Great school. Great teachers. Problem based approach teaching strategy. Tuition is affordable. You study at your own pace. The program has assignment deadlines but it is realistic. You can still work full time. You will be ready to pass the boards. You must secure your own practicum sites.

The negatives reviews are true.!!!!! Please stay away. Even if you are on your death bed with all the doctors notes you can get, you might as Well forget it. Bad grading , biased and expensive. Whatever you say over the phone is being written down word for word and communicated with your professor..lol. Professors are not understanding and rude, will give you 24 hours to do one weeks work plus paper and discussion after you get out of the hospital. . Then , on top of that, they refuse to review your... Read More

I attended this Chamberlain for my BSN and was very satisfied. I started taking my Masters and I am not happy at all. My teacher was very unreasonable with my grading and discussion. They only want you to use there scholarly articles which would take hours to find, to fit your papers. The professor seems like she was targeting me to fail. They do not let you pick what professor you want to take for this reason. I am not happy with this program and I am at the beginning. I heard they change the curriculum... Read More

I was enrolled in the FNP program. The curriculum skips from non track courses to track courses. I paid $126 to have fingerprinting and background check completed. The background check came back, but the fingerprinting took longer I was dropped from my course d/t something out of my control. The track course that I was dropped from did not include patient care all theory and the next course is a non track course. I paid $3000 for the class and I will not get that back. This college is a rip off!!!... Read More

Program changes frequently. Adding requirements that involve travel with short notice. Very expensive. New requirement involves a mandatory travel to Chicago for an intensive review. Also added new requirement of browser lockdown and webcam for exams mid program.

This is the worst school I have ever been to. Do not go to CHAMBERLAIN for your degree, the professors will fail you because of your review and tell your clinical to fail you because it is okay. I am doing FNP and if I know what I know now I would not have attended this school.

Worst school ever! They stated they are convenient to life but the new program has ruined that. I would tell anyone looking at this school to run! They do not care about their students the practicing coordinators are the worst! They are no help to the money you are spending!

I chose Chamberlain based on its flexibility of classes, and accessibility as I needed to work on my degree while having children. I was able to focus on school and family while obtaining my education, which would not have been feasible at a traditional school. I am grateful for the opportunity to become a FNP. I have worked very hard, and this program has allowed me to be successful at achieving my dream. So I applaud Chamberlain for charting new waters with their innovative learning experiences.... After spending all the time and money to take the 30 credits of core classes, some of which were taught by knowledgable, committed DNPs, some not, practicum is a huge disappointment. You are ON. YOUR. OWN. and you will NOT have an advocate for any reason. No one cares if the clinical affiliation agreement terms are violated or not. And if you are mistreated, do not receive the education or time you need, that is on you. No one will speak up for you, and you are stuck with whatever your preceptor... Read More

Online programs are for self starters. This program gave me all the tools to complete my degree and succeed in my career. I graduated with honors and passed the boards with no problems. I feel well prepared for interviews and feel I will be highly valued as an FNP based on the education I received.

They give you the courses, but when it comes time to do clinicals you are on your own. Have tried contacting them for help over and over. No reply or contact your local hospital. My advice is to pay more for a college or University that is linked with a local hospital.

Chamberlain University, Family Nurse Practitioner Track has been wonderful, professors are great and the courses are challenging. The professors are engaging and ask a lot of questions. There is a lot of critical thinking skills. I definitely recommend this school.

Finally done! Chamberlain is expensive for sure... but if you are working full time., family bread winner which was my case I would have never finished if I had to go to a brick and mortar class. They will not baby you... either do the work on your own or don't bother. Some classes are tougher than others and the instructors get tougher on you as time goes by. I have talked to brick and mortar students and I don't see any difference except you have to look for parking. I have maybe wait on the phone... Read More

Excellent program; supportive instructors. Problem based approach. Evidenced-based practice. Encourages and motivates student learning. The program is doable for those who work full-time. The reading material is easy to comprehend, the weekly lectures summarize the assigned readings. The database library is student friendly with up-dated peer-reviewed articles.

Very unorganized and misleading regarding the time it takes to complete. Inconsistent teaching styles made it difficult to follow expectations from class to class. No assistance with confirming clinical and I had to continuously contact them to find out the status of contracts. Had 3 different switches of practicum coordinators which caused even more delays. So many delays I had to sit out a turn because the contract for my 2nd clinical rotation was completed but not the 1 for the 1st one. Would... Read More

I've been relatively pleased with the program. It provides the flexibility I need in order to achieve this. It has all of the issues of any on line program. It's hard to feel connected to the school and the faculty, and you get out as much as you're willing to put in. There is very little to no personal instruction or feedback, but the material is there if you choose to put the time in. Finding a preceptor is really stressful, but this is the same for most programs now.

As a newer program it definitely had some kinks but overall I feel I have earned a quality education working around my work and family schedule. Just like ANY school, brick and mortar or online, you get what you put into it! I felt like my learning process was an ongoing collaboration between the class work and practicum experiences. I know one big frustration for some of my classmates was finding practicum sites. This is not a unique problem to Chamberlain. Every FNP program has this issue as students... Read More

I was very pleased with my education at Chamberlain. I have my BSN and 2 MSN degrees from this school and I highly recommend it for anyone needing flexibility. The online programs are tough but they teach you discipline, which is very important in this field. You have to be focused and ready to learn. I felt very prepared when I graduated and was able to pass my FNP board exam on the first try 2 weeks after graduation. I now have a great job with excellent pay and benefits. I attended Chamberlain for my undergraduate degree and liked it so much that I'm now back for my masters degree as a family nurse practitioner. This graduate degree program isn't for the faint of heart, or for those who want to have their hand held. This is a challenging program, and rightfully so.

Great school! Great instructors! There are some issues with finding preceptors for clinical, but I've heard that every single FNP program, including on-campus FNP programs, has this problem. Greatly satisfied with this school and would (and already did) this school to many of my co-workers. Some of them already started their journey with CCN.
