Potential Students, I am writing to provide you with an honest and informative perspective on my experience as a student in National University's Cyber Security program. My journey began in 2020, and while I have encountered some excellent instructors and valuable learning opportunities, there are significant challenges within the program that warrant your consideration. First and foremost, I must address the issue of certain staff professors having excessive power and lacking accountability. Throughout... Read More

DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL!!! Seriously the worst experience imaginable. I've been ABD for more than 2 years now (had a 3.9 GPA when I finished my coursework...got my MBA in only 16 months...) and haven't even gotten section 2 of my dissertation proposal approved. I'm on my second dissertation chair and ready to abandon ship because my work keeps getting rejected for "process" issues. I've even hired a dissertation coach and editor, and both of them as well as my SME (my second one!) approve of my... Read More

This is the worst school experience I have ever had. The finance department is ridiculous!! Every time I called I got a different story in regards to the status of my finances. It took 3 months to get my disbursement. When you escalate anything to a manager or supervisor all you get is an email of what you can already see in your portal. My last straw was when the last finance rep I talked to actually shushed me. There are other online schools that have it together, this school simply does not have... Read More

I had three classes left to graduate with my masters degree, and during one of my courses, I successfully completed everything, but the very last assignment. During that time I was hospitalized for Covid, placed on a ventilator, and was not removed from the ventilator for approximately a month when I was released from the hospital I got out to find that I had been withdrawn from school because I missed my last assignment. I was unable to login to complete a great appeal form which my advisor told... Read More

Let me begin with the positives; The professors in general are topnotch with impressive backgrounds. Out of 26 instructors, thus far, I've only had minor complaints against two of them. Now, on with the negative. The financial aid/academic advisors are poorly-trained on financial aid and its application and disbursement. For instance, I've had a financial aid issue that I originally pointed out in July 2023, and to date, not one staff member has been able to effectively pinpoint its origin or resolve... Read More

My experience at National University (formerly Northcentral) has been very positive. I know there are a lot of negative reviews and I was hesitant when I enrolled, but I want to add my experience to the conversation. I am in the MFT Master's program, have done very well (3.98 GPA), and have had only positive experiences with all of my professors and advisors. I've never had any difficulty with the financial aid or student advisors; everyone replies within a few days via email. I completed my undergraduate... Read More

Do not attend to National University. The amount of calls and texts I received when I was considering enrolling was insane and when I did enrolled and tried to call/email my advisor or financial aid or any type of department in the university they wouldn’t answer. They would mess up your account and financial aid that you would receive a letter without a notification from the school via email or call that apparently you are owning them money and that your FASFA is cancelled/didn’t go through. Then... Read More

Nobody answers the phone no matter what number you call. Getting someone to call me back os a major issue as well. I have been trying to start classes for a few months now but no communication is established. I give up. The 1 time i did get thru to someone the phone was static on thier end and I couldn't hear them.

I am currently enrolled as an online student pursuing a master's degree in criminal justice leadership. I am pleased with the quality of instruction provided by my professors, as they consistently respond to my emails within 48 hours, often even sooner. While I have not had the need to contact them via phone, their responsiveness through email has been commendable. In terms of administrative matters, I have encountered some challenges when dealing with the financial aid and academic office. However,... Read More

WARNING DO NOT GO HERE: Sanford School of Education. All except one professor were helpful and supportive to a point. "credential support" will not support you. They throw up roadblock after roadblock (they say they're nonprofit) setting candidates up for failure by making it impossible for interns to take and pass TPAs in the time allotted. They wait until the last 4 months of the program to start TPA seminar. You are then expected to submit (to the state) and pass them both by the end of the 4 months... Read More

I've successfully completed the first 16 courses with a GPA of 3.57. Absolut nightmare. They make you take extra classes you do not need. I was told they follow state guidelines and that is not the case. I feel like my degree is being help hostage. Advisors are incompetent and DO NOT help you unless you become aggressive. This is not how I like to live my life. I have never had a worse experience with a school in my life.

Do not be fooled by this college’s incessant calls prior to registration. Once they have you, it will be nearly impossible to make contact with anyone who can do anything for you. Pros: The classes are organized well. Classes are relatively easy which is great when you are a single parent working full time. Not a lot of textbook fees. Cons: You can never get in touch with anyone ever. My advisor never enrolled me in my second class and when I realized this, I sent her multiple emails and calls and... Read More

Please read all reviews before attending. They will call multiple times when you first enroll and once enrolled they are no where to be found. It is very hard to get a straight concise answer from anyone. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. It is more expensive to attend here and not worth the headache or incompetence.

Overall, I had a positive experience at the university. I’m generally a self-motivated person so that may have helped me through the process, but I believe that I will be better off because of my experience. Choosing the correct degree program was probably the most difficult part for me, but in the end I felt that a Bachelor’s in Business Administration was the best fit for me and would accelerate my career.

Use this as a warning. Plan on the career taking an extra year and a few thousand dollars more. Went in after being told it would be 80k and 4 years. Here I am at 94k with Lord only knows how much longer. See the thing is after you are done with academics you will need an extra 4 courses at 3k each. Or maybe 8 because if they need the money they will put you on a "supplemental" course. These are created to help you with the dissertation but who needs 12 weeks to get through 1 chapter? Or 20 weeks,... Read More
