"The Community Counseling program is definitely good for anyone who wishes to be licensed as a school counselor or a mental health counselor. In order to obtain your license you have to complete 12 additional credits and if you complete 15 additional credits you can earn your EdS as well. Unfortunately, you cannot be licensed with only the Master's degree. There are people in my classes ranging from those who want to apply to the Counseling Psychology program, those who want to be Licensed Mental Health Counselors and those who are getting their master's degree in order to get into the PhD Clinical Psychology program. I love the program due to being taught more clinical skills rather than in a social work program that just teaches to how to network and pull things together. Bloomington is a wonderful city to live in. It is pretty, liberal and there are several transportation options. Financial Aid ends up being what it is anywhere else. You receive some Perkins Loans due to being in the school of ed. Just like any other program you get what you put into it. If you only put a minor degree of effort into the program then that is what you will get out of it. If you put your all into the program you will see all of the benefits of it!"

"The Audiology graduate program has a great blend of clinical and research-based instruction. The faculty are very supportive, as well. Since it is one of the only three year Doctor of Audiology programs in the country, however, the workload can be rather intense. Overall, it has been a great experience."

"Bloomington is not a big city but it is a wonderful place to live. Like any PhD program, this is a stressful endeavor, but IU is a very strong program and not too "cut-throat" among the graduate students."

"IUB's Counselor Education and Mental Health Counseling department if extremely supportive, helpful and helps you obtain your license in as little time as possible if you put your time into it! As with any program you get out of it what you put into it. Bloomington is an awesome college town and area to live in. The support for IU is spread across the state and it's only real top contender in the state is Purdue. The nice thing is that if you are looking to study anything other than Veterinary Science or Engineering, IU is the best school. If you wish to study the previous two subjects Purdue is where you want to be and both IU and Purdue are respectful of that. IU is a big campus with a small campus feeling. You are not just a number but, have a name and people at the university actually care."

"Solid program if you get a scholarship! However, if you want to leave the surrounding area you must work very hard on your own to make your own connections. So you must do very well and do your own work to get out of the surrounding area."

"I did not regret coming here. I enjoyed everything: The academic experience, student organizations, career/networking support, and all kinds of opportunities to gain work experience and to grow professional skills. The town is beautiful and people are extremely friendly. It's a place that I will forever miss after graduation."

"IU Telecommunications Pros: top-notch professors who are prominent and publish all the time very friendly environment in the department game consoles, development software, TV studio, and most of the production equipment you'd ever want good ranking AND teaching - degree is both useful and respected Cons: much more social science than cultural studies; more quantitative and about cognitive processing than other, more "squishy" subjects very demanding courework (which IS a good thing, really) grad students do not get offices"

"Maurer Law is great. The professors are knowledgeable and pretty friendly. The students are a little too competitive for my liking. Bloomington is has many city-type attractions with a small town feel."

"Indiana University is located in a great college town and has a friendly but highly competent faculty. The school is very family friendly. The major con is lack of good food near the business school. However, the pros far outweigh any cons."

"IU is in the beautiful town of Bloomington, rich in culture and new experiences. It offers much to expand the student's horizons, if only the student will take advantage of those opportunities. The graduate program is rigorous, but it lives up to the expectations of this public ivy league university."

"Indiana University is a therepeutic place to be studying for doctoral studies. It's got the best of both worlds: the hippy-dippy aspects of a big city and the serenity of what one would expect of a university campus."

"IUB is exceptional and the graduate student level, since much of the feel of the large university school is not so evident. Select undergraduate programs, but not all, include academic rigor."
