"RUN and do not go here. They only want your money. This is a for profit school and you will be beaten over the head to come up with more money and more money. The people running this school pretend to care about the students but we are just cash cows to them. What they charge is outrageous and you will not graduate with a degree you can do much with. Go to a CAl State or Community College, cheaper, and better qualified teachers/professors. This place wil hound you to come back to get more money out of you."

"The Academy may be small in numbers but its prime location along Michigan Avenue certainly overcomes size, in my opinion. I enjoyed the intimate atmosphere of the school and its unique structure. The Academy occupies two floors of an office building in the heart of downtown Chicago. Everything is in walking distance or accessible through public transportation. The student body, at the Academy, is a mosaic of the creatives and art kids who were labeled in high school. I always looked forward to going to school and having the casual conversations about the color wheel or a contemporary artist. For me, its important to be surrounded by individuals who share a fundamental enthusiasm for art and creativity. I constantly felt encouraged, by students and faculty, to work hard and be committed to my art. I have made some of my closest friends, including my wonderful husband, at the American Academy of Art."
