"Stay away from this scam. I completed AIUs BBA degree plan and completed it shortly before I retired from the US Coast Guard. I thought along with my 30 years of experience a degree would give me a better chance of getting a good civilian job, wrong!!!!! I soon found out no employers looked on the AIU degree as a real one. I decided to go back to school and get an MBA, and after applying at no less than 5 colleges/universities if found that not one of my AIU credits transferred. So I had to start all over. I now have several MS degrees as well as an MBA in project management. All I ended up with as far as AIU goes in 3 wasted years of time and over $25k in student loan debt. I should have known better, with AIUs high pressure sales tactics to take loans out and constant calls but I did not think about it. Also AIU outright lied about it's programs graduation employment numbers, salary stats as well as their so called after graduation employment help IE resume writing help and so on. I also should have been concerned about the grades I got in classes I was a well below average student in high school and did in fact drop out in my senior year, yet even with no experience in the business field I was getting all A's in classes and ended up with a 3.98gpa. I saved all papers I wrote during my AIU classes and looking at them now, IMO they would get a C in high school at best. I bet thinking back now if I would have submitted a drawing of a happy face as an assignment it would have received an A as well. Do yourselves a favor people, stay away from AIU.Read Less"

"Stay away from this so called school. I took the BBA degree plan thinking it would help me get a good civilian job, guess again, no employers considered it a real degree. So I decided to go back to school and get my MBA. Not one AIU credit transfered (and i tried at 5 different universities) so I had to start all over. Besides the degree from AIU being 100% worthless, I fell for the high pressure to take out student loans. Now I am stuck with over$25K in student loans from a worthless degree. AIU also lied about post graduation employment help, resume review/help, as well as after graduation employment figures, salery and so on. At the time it did not dawn on me how I was getting such high grades with NO business experiance or knowledge (3.98gpa) because in high school I was a below average student, and also ended up dropping out of high school and joining the military. IMO back then while taking AIU classes i could have submitted a happy face and got an A on it. I did save evey assignment I ever submitted and looking back on them (after getting several real degrees) I laugh at what I wrote, they would not even recieve a C on a high school level. "This college is a scam. l attend the college for about a year. It's coslty, does not require real work to pass the classes. If you want an easy degree this is the college for you. That's the main reason I even attended this college because pretty much the advisior told me I didn't have to do work. It was correct I got A's and B's. I was attending school and then took a break. Upon coming off the break AIU kept calling harrassing me to log in to my classes when I wasn't enrolled in one for September 2018. I told the advisor I would enroll back in October courses and use my TA for those courses, because I was still trying to get TA cleared for the school. Once it was cleared I enroll in the classes that I wanted to take with them. The advisor advised me I couldn't just enroll in the classes I wanted to take because they make my degree plan for me and I had to follow it. Long story short they enrolled me in a class for September 2018 a week after classes started, to supposely avoid being disenrolled in thier college. I didn't open the module until I made sure that it was cover by my finanical aid. Once I called and verified it was cover by my finanical aid I started the class. Anyways I tried accesssing my transcripts, but an warning appeared that could not be generated due to a balance. So I called the finanical advisor and questioned him he told me not to worry. Eventually the warning went away and I was able to access my transcriopts. So upon completion of that class again I tried to access my transcripts it read the same warning. I messenger the financial advisor and now he's talking about it's showing that for the October classes that AIU automatically enrolled me in. My financial aid wouldn't cover the October classes and if I dropped them I would not be charged. I told him then drop me from the classes. I had to call the degree advisor. Ok, to easy right? NO! She was out the office and had a sit in advisor. I requested to be dropped from the class and she said ok. The following week I was dropped from the classes before they started after numerous calls! October goes by and we're well into November. AIU emails me talking about called them concerning a debt. I called, they state I owe $700 for classes. So I'm like what classes because I disenrolled from you college in October. Lady states oh, oh well this is for September. How is it for September when the class I took, I was told it was covered with finanical aid. Then her rude self continued to say no you requested to use TA and it didn't cover. The finanical aid wasn't applied for. How? liar when I called and was informed by the advisor that the financial aid I had did cover the class before I opened it. So not only are you lying about me saying I wanted to use TA but now you're saying you all blatantly lied and said it was covered. Then she preceeds to say I have all the notes. Well you and you collegues are lying. Regardless I have the email saying I wanted to use TA for October classes and not September, that you all lied and said it was covered by financial aid, so try again. My whole objective was to get a degree, but because of my schedule I couldn't attend college. The only pros of this school is that: - The advisor didn't lie about the classes you don't have to put in much work to acheive an A or B. - The modules you continously take to improve your score with little to no understanding of the subject. - Its convenient if your schedule is full The cons: - They will lie and say you owe an balance after lying saying the classes are covered fully by financial aid just to get you to attend - They constantly call your phone while you're enrolled which is annoying because  you already know I'm gonna pass the class with an elementary paragraph response so stop it. - They violate the principles of excellence agreementRead Less"

"I earned my Associates degree with AIU in 2005, and returned to complete my Bachelor's in Business Administration. I've taken 100% of my classes online. The Admissions & Academic advisors have been awesome. They are attentive, professinal, and actually make you feel that they care about you. The instructors have ALL been great. I have nothing bad at all to say about this university. I've been able to take my time, and earn my degrees at my own pace. January 2019 I will receive my Bachelor's and February 2019 I will begin the Master's program. I'll recommend American InterContinental University to anyone.Read Less"

"I have had a good INDEPENDENT experience. What I mean by that is. Student advisers aren't genuine, so understand you are on your own. The material is good I have learned a lot and although I have not finished yet, I do have employers willing to work with me until I graduate. The courses are useful and gratefully there are many resources to help you succeed. It is true they are only helpful in the beginning. Some of the professors don't answer emails and will not give you feedback so you are pretty much self-teaching. But that has nothing to do with the school itself. The program is for self-starters and people who are self-driven. Just don't take anything personal, don't expect much from an "adviser" and some of the professors. Some of the teachers are very attentive and care about your development. Just stick to it.Read Less"

"I would like to start out by saying that this school start out like they care. My students Advisor was the rudest most arrogant person Ive ever dealt with concerning school. I asked for someone to call me back because I would to talk to someone in regards to him being rude to me. I have still not received a call back. Mind you they called a million times when it was time to start."

"American InterContinental University provides a great online undergraduate program. I attended class at a regular college campus before AIU and was so glad I transferred. Attending school online provided better schedule flexibility for work and other activities. Students are not required to attend lectures, but have access to watch them after the fact. In addition the course work at AIU is much different than any other college I attended previously. Rather than having tests and quizzes, the classes at AIU are primarily papers, presentations or projects. This type of coursework was much better for me because the coursework allowed more time to complete the work assigned, and did not require mass memorization. I would recommend AIU's online classes to anyone who needs schedule flexibility, and also has the discipline to complete the coursework on time. Since there is no physical class, it is up to the student to keep themselves motivated and completing the work based on the syllabus given.Read Less"

"Good afternoon, I went to AIU in 2012 and was supposed to Graduate in 2015 in a degree in Business management but do to the high cost and all the loads I had to take I was not able to finish. I have called the school leaving messages trying to see the cost so that I can get my Transcript but have not got a call back. I don't know it this was all worth it because I get paper in the mail saying a I all this money to pay back."

"I really enjoyed the courses that AIU had to offer. It was a school that was easy to work into my life as a full-time employee, mother, wife and not to mention all the activities that come alone with family. I found the instructors to be very concerned with teaching the materials and were always available to me when I needed to reach out for additional help. The group projects were one of my favorite things to do. I was wondering how working in groups would work when students are in different states, but it was quite easy. With that experience I am now pursuing a job in project coordination/management. I never realized that this was an interest to me until working in groups here at AIU.Read Less"

"I attended this university from 2011 - 2013 to get my bachelor's degree. I attended a local community college prior to enrollment for my associates degree. The school was extremely expensive costing me around $32,000 which should have been closer to $24,000 they told me. It was writing intensive a discussion board assignment due every Wed, responses to two classmates and a weekly paper usually 2-5 pages in length, and some classes seemed repetitive. There were literally times when I had an assignment due in one class that almost mirrored an assignment due for another class. It wasn't easy but it wasn't hard either. I did learn quite a lot about business, the economy and my field of human resources that I hadn't previously known. It required a lot of research to complete the assignments and I had to acclimate myself to a school work schedule. The biggest cons for me were the costs, ignorance of classmates and lack of responsiveness from teachers. There were students who would post incoherent and grammatically incorrect discussion board assignments and receive an A. In fear of receiving bad grades on group assignments I would often volunteer to do the editing because most of my classmates should have never earned a high school diploma based on their (there, they're) writing skills! When I finished AIU I was making less than $40k a year working in the HR field. Within 9 months I accepted a position earning $14K more a year which was made possible due to my recent degree and 9 years experience in my field. I decided to earn my masters degree at a traditional college in my home state and attend an online degree program. It was a much cheaper option for me. I was accepted into the program without any problems so my degree wasn't worthless as previous people indicated. My overall experience was positive but it was the hard work I put in as well. My best advice is to weigh all costs and decide what is best for you. Make good decisions about your career path and you can make the most of your degree.Read Less"

"The classes were decent, as long as you dedicate time to learning just as you would with a brick and mortar school. The affordability is terrible, the amount of loans owed to this school are the equivalent of an Ivy League school. You also have to use Sallie Mae if your loans are not all covered by the Federal Government (they won't be), and they are terrible as well. I have yet to receive my diploma or transcripts (your transcripts, even your first copy, are not included in your tuition) even though I graduated 4 years ago. Repeated calls to the university do very little, they are very unresponsive. All in all, this university was very misleading, over priced, unhelpful, and seems to be a total scam.
