"CSULB's School of Social Work has a super diverse cohort for my year, and I believe each year is diverse as well. Different students from every ethnic/racial background, every age group, location, etc. It has been an awesome experience growing with my cohort and learning from one another. I love how the school makes very intentional efforts to decide our placements and works with the student to negotiate any issues at the placement. I also appreciate the faculty. Many are excellent resources of wisdom and knowledge. They can be very helpful and understanding too!Read Less"

"Attending CSULB School of Social Work part-time program was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The professors really care about your future and really helped prepare me for my future as a social worker. Also, my colleagues and fellow classmates were so helpful and experienced and helped me become the best social worker that I can be. If you are thinking about applying to an MSW program, long beach is the way to go. You get the best bang for your buck!!"

"I love my graduate program. I have only been at CSULB one semester but I have learned plenty already. The professors and my colleagues have been great and helpful. Everyone has been open and willing to participate. I have enjoyed the fact that many of my colleagues know how to work as a team and are willing to answer any questions. I believe that in order to survive a graduate program you must have the well-rounded help of all people, faculty and your colleagues. I have yet to find any cons - maybe the tuition price!Read Less"

"I have not started the graduate program yet. However, one pro is that it is a generalist program, so we gain knowledge in all areas of social work practice. Though I enjoy that, the fact that there are no specific concentrations is also a con for me."
