"My advisor at Chamberlain is very disorganized. If I ever have a simple question, I will call them and be on the phone for hours, being transferred multiple times during the call, until finally someone answers me. The school is very large and very disorganized. Also I have been taking classes for over a year and can honestly say I have not gained much if any knowledge."

"When you sign in they are quick with the process for their own convenience.....once you start your classes you are on your own. You are left with no support, teachers don't support you, and they don't care about your future or anything regarding your success. When it comes to clinical sites, there is no support, not even to get a list of places as a reference......0 support, if you have a question regarding your clinicals, they will not answer your calls nor emails......I regret starting this program with this school...please run away and save your money, time and energy with a supported school and professional institution.Read Less"

"One of the worst experiences with clinicals I’ve ever had. I’m working on my MSN informatics degree, and not only is the clinical process awful because you have to find your own clinicals, I have been waiting for MONTHS to get approved after I have submitted everything. There is no communication in this school. It has pushed back my graduation date and caused an immense amount of stress. RUN from this school, the stress truly isn’t worth it."

"If you are looking for a university that does not meet application deadlines. That will delay your graduation. It has bad management. Chamberlain University is the university you are looking for. They are always behind on their applications and say they are working to improve. But it never got better. It got worse."

"I was stuck in between choosing two different schools for my FNP. I chose Chamberlain because they made it sound so great by saying courses are only 8 weeks long and they help with practicum placement. I am half way thru the schooling, and feel like I have learnt much of nothing. The professors all grade APA format differently so what one says is ok the next may take points off and say its not. I am to the part of the program to find a practicum site, and no help there. They send a link for you to click on and watch a prerecorded video of the things you obviously have tried already and failed. Then when you call ELC for help, they scrutinize you as if you're not working hard enough to secure a site. I did not get my bachelor's from here and im ecstatic about that, but I wish I would have contined at the university I did receive my bachelor's thru. If you're a person that doesn't care about actually learning, then this is the place to be. Otherwise.....RUN! I feel ripped off as if I threw my money away, and its too late transfer because other schools will only take a certain amount of your credits as transfer.Read Less"

"I can't say enough about the great experiences I have had with Chamberlain. I started with them in 2020 with a JumpStart program they had offered while I was still enrolled for my ADN at a community college. That program allowed me to get a head start on the BSN program while offering the first 2 classes for free which was an awesome savings. I was able to complete my RN-BSN in 7 months at Chamberlain. I enjoyed the classes, the faculty was engaged in the discussions and had fair grading policies. Anytime I had an issue or question, the teachers were very accommodating and always got back to me in a timely manner. I enjoyed Chamberlain so much, that I have decided to pursue my MSN in Nursing Education there, and I start in a few weeks. I hear the MSN program is more challenging and I will have to arrange my own preceptors, but knowing that information before I have even started the program has allowed me to network and start building connection that will help me when it comes time to needing a preceptor. Most of the negative reviews seem to be related to finding preceptors, and unfortunately, many online programs require the student to find their clinical sites. It is definitely hard if you're new to the field or not building positive connections along the way, but I wouldn't put that blame on Chamberlain.Read Less"

The experiential learning coordination team will not answer phone call or e-mails. Be prepared to be alone and not receive any help when needed. "I LOVE Chamberlain University School of Nursing! I am enrolled in their Master of Science in Nursing program. My specialty track is Population Health. I have been a Registered Nurse since 1992, and this career goal has been long overdue. I have read some of the negative commentaries listed in this forum; However, I must say these experiences have NOT been my experiences. From the date of my first contact with the academic advisors, I have experienced nothing but support from Chamberlain University. The classes change every 8 weeks. We MUST maintain grade point averages between 3.0 and 4.0 throughout the program. Besides the flexibility of scheduling, there are quality tools to promote high-level scholastic performance. You just have to ask for assistance, and my academic advisor was always on standby. The instructors come from diverse backgrounds, have a wealth of experience, and very helpful. The school week, which begins every Sunday, is always something motivating to look forward to. You are assigned to read a chapter, perhaps look at an associated video. At the end of the chapter, you are given an assignment. The assignment is a collaboration café/threaded discussion based on the assigned chapter. You usually are required to provide evidence-based responses by posting a response to the instructor’s question by Wednesday at midnight. After the initial response on Wednesday, you are required to respond to a classmate’s post by Sunday night. If "life" happens, the instructors work well with you to get you back on track. I know this, because my mother passed during the program. I was not pressured, just readjusted my schedule, penalty free. There are various types of projects to complete: Power Point Presentations, narrated or not, Kaltura presentations, Microsoft Word presentations, educational brochure development, instruction in community assessments/education program planning, and much more. The on-line library is great and always at your disposal. You can also use your local library, including the hospital library at your employer. Yes, some of the program requires self-direction. Yes, some of the program requires you to follow up on mentors. I would expect this, based on a master's level education and the university's corporate offices being in a different state (unless you reside in Illinois). I do not think it is fair to hold an out of state institution to “find” all local resources in YOUR hometown. The university guides you in advance on how to maneuver this task. In fact, this direction is communicated to you at intervals throughout the program until placement becomes imminent. I asked around, even reached out to sources on Linked-In, until my mentor happily agreed to assist. I say, you cannot go wrong with Chamberlain School of Nursing!!!Read Less"

"Unfortunately this is a diploma mill = you pay, you get a diploma. You aren't challenged academically or learn new or innovative information that will benefit you in the competitive healthcare field. It is a for-profit school that is much more interested in you paying the $23 dollar balance on your account than in your academic performance. Some of the instructors are very engaged and helpful. A few are petty, poor communicators, arbitrary, and retaliatory. They do not like to be questioned or challenged. As someone with decades of healthcare experience, I learn something every day and don't ever suggest that I know everything. I have two degrees through Chamberlain and working on a DNP currently but wish I had made other choices. I continued with them because it was easier and seemed like less of a hassle than changing. I have four kids and a very stressful position. In hindsight, I should have moved on after my MSN. I suggest focusing on a real school with a real presence in the community in which you live. If you HAVE to attend a virtual or distance learning degree program, I would try for a not for profit one. Chamberlain is pretty awful and certainly not worth the costs. "I knew that I would have to find my own preceptor site, but I never imagined the lack of coordination and support from this school. I have been trying for months to go back to clinicals, but with absolutely no luck. The clinical site required a list of items from the school (proof of good standing, insurance, etc), every time I call the school I am told that they do not communicate with the site, and I am responsible to complete these item. So, I have tried to field it myself, but the school is more concerned with their own list of requirements. I am incredibly disapointed.Read Less"

"I am proud to be a Chamberlain student. The curriculum is comprehensive and the future curriculum builds upon the previous. There are many types of learning which speak to all learning styles. The professors are all willing to help and support your education any way they can. their feedback on assignments and thought-provoking questions increase learning and application of learned knowledge. The advisors, student services, and other ancillary staff address issues promptly and work quickly to impart an appropriate resolution. I started with Chamberlain for my BSN-MSN Bridge. I have my BSN and I will complete my studies for my MSN in one session, then on to my Practicum. I highly recommend Chamberlain for secondary education.Read Less"

"I am 2-courses away from a MSN degree but may not be able to finish because Chamberlain will not let me enroll unless I have a clinical site, which I have not been able to get because Chamberlain does not help you find sites. Then, when you think you might have found a site on your own (CVS Minute Clinic) they denied me as I have not done a pediatric rotation, which is extremely hard to find on your own. I have been sitting it out for 3 months now and the more time I am away the harder it will be to finish. Chamberlain does not care about their students success, they will step over you and keep moving to process more students to enter their program and collect private school fees. The classes are online, and if you are struggling the response is just " figure it out". You pay high fees to learn on your own and find your own clinical sites.Read Less"

"DO NOT ATTEND this school. If you do not have a very substantial and broad APRN or MD network in order to assist for clinical placement, do not even think about attending here. They advertise a "preceptor matching service" but it is nothing more than YOU cold calling places and finding a place on your own. I am still waiting for this service. It is a very frustrating situation to find yourself in. They will not provide you with a list of who others may have used in your area (that would help at least a little bit). I wish I hadn't gone here and went to a traditional school that has been established in my area. Some offices told me that they only work with certain programs and that basically my program was not reputable enough. These kind of rebuffs are enough to make you feel like you made the dumbest and costliest decision ever! If I had to do it over, I would not have chosen this school. If you have a choice, only go to this school as last resort.Read Less"

"Constantly changing rules, even before COVID. The instructors I had were all employed elsewhere, so they really had no time for explaining or teaching. When I tried to use ASPIRE, left voice mail and got a call back 2 weeks later and was offered appointment for 4 weeks later. If I had a question , I was shuffled from one department to the next. Usually took months to answer me. Clinical hours and COMPLIO was a nightmare, although I stayed up to date on everything, the school did not. Was too much added stress. Does not teach to the boards. Just wants your money. Does not care, false advertising. I would not recommend this place.Read Less"

"This school is beyond frustrating. From holding grades and practicum hours hostage to passing the buck. They just want your money and do not help with anything. I even needed to use the ASPIRE services only to be forwarded to a voice mail where no one returned my call for almost a month! This school is a joke. Totally regret it."

"I am reading all of the negative reviews on here and am honestly blown away. I have attended Chamberlain for 2 degrees and both experiences couldn’t have been better. I received my BSN in 2014, and because I had such a good experience, I chose Chamberlain for my MSN as well. I recently graduated and am waiting to take my FNP certification exam soon. Chamberlain is very flexible and is designed for working people. There are no set log in times and no live lectures, but instructors and tutors are always available if needed. When my son was ill in the hospital, my instructor had no problem giving me an extension on the week’s assignment. When the pandemic hit, they relaxed and reduced class assignment requirements to make things easier on us. During my capstone course in my MSN program, they gave us access to an absolutely wonderful review course. I can’t say enough about Chamberlain. I feel very prepared with my education and am very thankful to Chamberlain. It isn’t the cheapest school in the world but it is worth it, and you do get a discount if you attend again as an alumni. If I return to school for my DNP, Chamberlain will definitely be my go to, and I would recommend this school to anyone.Read Less"

"Having read the reviews prior to attending, I was leary about the education I’d get from the online environment. Looking back, I found all of the classes beneficial - contributing immensely to the goals I had set for myself. Yes, there is a lot of self-paced learning but that is what is expected with this type of program. The discussions, projects, and papers required critical thinking skills and application of your own experiences. If you are not self motivated and lack time management skills, this environment may not be the best fit for you. I recommend this program for other life-long learners!Read Less"

"Horrible school. I can’t even elaborate enough on this. I’ll be in debt until I die and I taught myself the entire time. Teachers don’t reply. In my BSN I had a harassing teacher that would call me and email me several times a day, it was so concerning that I dropped the class and still had to pay $1400. It was ok in the beginning when I did my BSN. My MSN teachers currently are horrible. My class discussion asked me to provide my place of employment (specific name) AND city. I did not because I felt that was unreasonable to ask students and unsafe- also omitting that information does not change the fact I know or don’t know the material. Because I didn’t want to feel unsafe giving my specific city and employer name I received 20% off the discussion. This is just one example of the atrocious things Chamberlain does.
