"It's actually pretty weird because the program is initially very doable for someone who has a family, career, or other obligations but then out of the blue the NR509 course becomes a nightmare. The immense and constant pressure is horrible for the learning environment. I don't believe I've ever felt this mentally on edge and I've completed 4 programs. I've reached out to instructors several times with concerns about my grade but no one was willing to provide any direction (not asking for answers or revealing information, just instruction like instructors do). I think the NR 509 class absolutely needs to be revamped and either stretched out over a longer period of time or some of the assignments alleviated such as the weekly iHuman or the weekly quizzes. Weekly quizzes, a midterm, a final, weekly reflections, an assessment video, a two day immersion and iHuman is too much for one person to handle, and not including CHILDREN,HUSBANDS,WIVES, and other responsibilities. I also didn't find the weekly SI review or study guides helpful. I'm normally an A/B student but I sat uncomfortably at a C from this class until the end of the program and I hated that for myself:( I started to question whether or not I was built for advanced nursing or nursing period for that matter! If you're looking for true direction and mentorship from real life clinicians in the field....DON'T GO HERE!Read Less"

"SAVE YOUR TIME & MONEY !!! School is worthless in all regards. Instructors are terrible, admin is totally worthless as well. All they are in business for is your $$$, they could care less about helping you further your program. When it comes time for clinicals, be prepared for headaches all around. You do all the work to line up preceptor only for the school to tell you "no contract, keep checking". Find another one local, after having driven 3 hours one way everyday on previous one, Only to have school say it takes 2-3 months to get contract. EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES all designed to make you fail or drop out, but they still get the $$$. They could truly care less about students, Only concerned about $$$. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHES & AVOID CHAMBERLAIN AT ALL COSTS !!!Read Less"

"SAVE YOUR MONEY! This school is so unorganized. The instructors who teach online never even email you back. They are out only out for your money and care little about quality. This was not a good choice and if I had to do it over I would run for my life."

"I know some are skeptical when having to find their own clinical sites. I work for a hospital and just stayed within my hospital. That made it easier because I only had to get the place approved one time then from there it was just my NP information that needed provided. I recommend staying within the same health system when possible. I never had issues with finding a clinical site or getting it approved."

"I personally have not had any problems with the School. Every time I call everyone is very helpful. I wish they would assist in finding site location, but at the same time I feel it is beneficial if we find our own location it helps the student network with Doctors offices. The classes are not to easy a bit challenging, just like any online program. I would recommend this school."

"There are good and things with every program. Chamberlain's program is ever-changing as they are continuously attempting to make updates to improve the curriculum. I have made recommendations that have come to fruition. They hold town halls every semester to receive feedback from students and have multiple ways in which to give feedback. They do not help with finding a preceptor - but neither do a lot of other programs out there. There is an extra fee for your specialty-track classes only at this time. There is some inconsistency between instructors and their expectations which can sometimes be frustrating, but I also think this is normal for any program. They need to work on how they allocate the credit hours for didactic in clinical courses because students put in a lot more hours worth of work than what is currently reflected in the credit hour allotment. To their credit, Chamberlain has been very innovative however in their design of their capstone course, and their newer approach to testing and quizzes. Students have the ability to truly learn for learning's sake and not be so stressed out that they miss the big picture as I have seen from students in other programs. The coursework, however, is still aggressive and quite rigorous throughout the clinical courses. Students are forced to thoroughly research a multitude of topics that directly relate to things they see in practice.Read Less"

"My instructors have been very good and helpful so far. The only problem is finding your on preceptor. I suggest starting very early on so you won't be stressed. Other that, Chamberlain has been a blessing. There are no waiting list, they start several times a year vs. only one start date. You're able to work and do clinical. You set your own clinical schedule,, as long as you get your hours in you are good. I did my BSN there and I'm now 4 classes away from being complete with the MSN-FNP program!!Read Less"

"Amazing school that allows the ability to be a working mom as well as a student! The professors push you to do your best and is top notch education for an on-line program. Yes, it is an on-line program therefore, strict time management skills are required to be successful. You must also find your own clinical site. However, most schools require this."

"I have enjoyed the online experience which allowed me to study around work. Students complain about having to find your own preceptors. Everyone is a nurse who has worked with people in all fields. Networking is constant. I found my preceptors through past and present jobs. I believe you get back what you put in and feel prepared."

"Excellent program. Very tough, but its not supposed to be easy. Professors are highly knowledgeable and educated. The program is CCNE accredited, which ensures the highest standards in nursing education are upheld. The MSN program is very doable online, but one has to be disciplined and focused."
