"I love this school. They do a great job of helping us think more critically about research and how to diagnose organizational problems. The professors have gone to an Ivy League school, served as a senior in the government, served in the military, etc. I admire their diverse backgrounds and the way that they encourage us to think differently about a concept. Moreover, our school is very diverse in staff and students."

"Yikes. I'm not sure what's going on with the other reviews but I'll be speaking positively about my experience with the school. First off, I attend the DC campus. Due to the pandemic, we attend on-campus classes once a month. I'm in the Ph.D. in Business Psychology - Consulting Track program. I like the program because I feel that I am learning so much in such a short period of time. I feel that the assignments are appropriately challenging and are refining my knowledge, skills, and abilities as a professional in the DC federal government. The lessons are very relevant to my current job. My only complaint is that the assignments are due in such a short period of time. For example, assignments are issued on Mondays. Sometimes, the assignments entail 40+ pages of reading and a discussion post due by Wednesday. Other times, the assignment requires reading four chapters and answering a question or two by Thursday. As far as the school goes, I like it enough. The admins are facility staff are cordial and respond to emails within a reasonable time. The professors are professional and knowledgeable. I love this school. It's much better than my last school where I was also pursuing a PhD.Read Less"

"You will be ok here if you are white. Typical for-profit, gate keeping colonialist school. Dare to complain about a profesor, they will be promoted for it! But wait, that sane person in the point of contact for student concerns so why even bother! If you are in the PhD program, mind that you wont get to pick your chair. This is so important because when these relationships don't work, you will be adding time to your time there meaning more student debt (~$1500 per cr hr). They do have a diversity team, composed by white faculty members! What a scam.Read Less"

"This is a money pit- you finish the course work then they keep you in Dissertation classes forever with no results. They only help who they want to help. My dissertation chair was so bad- I just stopped paying for absolutely nothing. Should have went to USC ."

"I've just completed my first year of the IP Phd program (trauma concentration). It has been a great experience. The professors have a wealth of knowledge, they are concerned about you're academic well-being and are quick to respond if you have questions or concerns. The university is fast with responding as well. My cohort's field experience was canceled 3 times no fault of the TCSPP, but due to political atmosphere in one country and covid-19 in 2 other countries. They were concerned with the safety of the students and faculty. It has been an absolute please being a PhD student at TCSPP and I look forward to my continued studies and I am very happy that I made the choice to attend.Read Less"

"How tremendously disappointing! I had been thrilled at the time of my acceptance but have become increasingly broken-hearted at the lack of support, the disengagement and lack of interest on the part of instructors and the "disconnected-ness"of the entire educational experience. This is not a school that cares about the success (or satisfaction) of its students."

"Do not attend this school. It is overpriced, and the faculty are unresponsive. They harrass and retaliate against you for complaining and your complaints fall on deaf ears. Everyone from the president to faculty is terrible and unresponsive. If youre a white male you might get treated a tad better. Stay away from this school. They are HORRIBLE."

"Trying to talk to staff and support is a tedious task. Often no replies from instructors. Uses a system that is not compatible with Mac. Too many team projects and not enough individual tasks. Biggest problem is not getting the instructors to hear your concerns or not getting any reply at all. I should note that I have not had the same experience at other inline schools"

"The Clinical Psy.D. faculty are amazing but the fact that the school is run by a bunch of business professionals does horrible things for the school as a whole."

"Most of my classes were done online and so I barely spent any time on campus, aside from the few classes I took on campus. Though the time that I was there, was always one of the best experiences I've had. The people are so nice, my teachers were amazing, their instructions were great and I found myself understanding everything. I think the Chicago school can take pride in the fact that they have some of the greatest teachers making sure the students pass their classes. It was rather stressful at times, but isn't any school stressful? However, once you apply yourself, and take discipline, you'll find that everything else becomes much easier and you kind of have fun with your classes. It helps if this is your passion, and if you love helping people. I would have rated everything excellent, but not everything is perfect, though this comes quite close to it.Read Less"

"I spent about 8 years studying in this school for my PhD. I was lucky to begin studying early at 17 years old. Although I knew what I was getting myself into when I began on my journey to get a PhD. I always prepared myself for the worst and focused solely on my studies. I must say, Chicago school makes it easier than expected. I didn't get that stressed as I could have in other schools, and I was really thankful for this. But I guess it depends on your level of discipline, when you start on a long journey such as this. This is a really great school, from the beginning they teach you new skills that you can use to start getting ready within your desired field. With this, I started working in a related field in Psychology, with kids and teenagers before even graduating. It helps that they see you are capable to deal with this though. I wasn't treating the kids, I was simply helping and assisting and working in the offices where they did. If you have a love for the job, then you will find it really rewarding. Before this, I had to support myself working on other jobs unrelated to the field I work in now. Like post offices, coffee places, and so on... Anyway, as long as you persevere with your chosen field I believe you can go far. I came here without expectations and free of a mind with a set future. I let the journey take me where it had to, and that helps a lot with the stress of having to hand in homework on time, while also balancing a job. I've finished graduating at 2012 and am now working in Psychology, with my very own patients and it definitely gets easier. You get to choose your schedule, and you work at your own pace while maintaining a good relationship with your patients and being financially stable. I didn't give it such a perfect rating, because there were times when the teachers were definitely unfair, but that's not the school's fault. You just have to learn how to choose your teachers, and deal with the ones that you don't like, just like in any other school. But if you know where to go, you can avoid immature students as well as teachers. Most of the teachers that taught me where indeed very professional, and wise beyond their years, and I appreciated that they were always willing to help me out. "After debating for a number of years to go back to school to get my doctorate degree, I was immediately impressed and confident to go back and attend The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. They are eager to support and help transition adults back into being a student as well as have class schedules that are suitable for the working professionals. What I like the most is that the professors treat students are colleagues with respect and collaboration!"
