"The biggest pro to Claremont Graduate University is the academic environment. Although students are competitive they are also extremely supportive of one another. I am involved in helpful study groups in all of my classes and I would not describe anyone as cut-throat. The main problem of the university is the financial aid. Tuition is expensive and although I have half of mine covered California is an expensive place to live which regularly makes me question my decision to go to school here."

"Claremont is great if you're looking for a traditional grad school campus and vibe with a small classes and accessible professors. They do a great job in bringing in outside programs, and the student body is a good mix of domestic and international. The Claremont consortium of 5 undergrad colleges, the grad school (which includes the biz school), and the nearby theology school means that there is lots of trans-discipline learning opportunities. L.A. is a little pricy from a living standpoint, and the private college tuition can be a bit breathtaking, but there is a lot of financial aid available if you ask and apply. They do have evening classes but some of the programs are better at catering to working students than others."

"This is the only program of its kind on the west coast. The instructors are very approachable. The students are tightly connected. The workload is not too heavy and is very accomodating for working students."

"Claremont was my dream school and so far it has lived up to all of my expectations. The faculty and staff have been extraordinarily helpful each step of the way. The graduate campus is small and easily accessible. Considering that it is graduate school where you are expected to be totally independent, there is a great deal of assistance for you particularly with regard to writing. The Claremont Writing Center has to be unique as it extends a great deal of support to advanced writers in the graduate fields of study. With regard to my program in education, I have now gotten over the initial shock of the 16 page syllabus. It has taken some organization skills to make sure that all the assignments due are on time but I have gotten used to the pace."

"Claremont Graduate school provides faculty in the religion program that are at the top of their fields. Their knowledge of the material is terrific and their enthusiasm makes the class fun to be in. The class sizes are small and very personal. No student can feel over shadowed because the program is designed to be very personal. the cons of the program really come down to the expenses of each class."

"While teacher candidates are exposed to an abundance of information, particularly as it pertains to english language learners and special education student, teacher candidates are left to figure out on their own teacher basics such as lesson planning and classroom management strategies. I constantly felt like I was struggling and was not a fully supported to be an effective teacher. It doesn't help when the administrators and advisors aid their "favorite" students."
