"Cranbrook was a great school to develop a studio practice and with it's loose structure, makes students develop their own curriculum. Because of it's structure you have to be very self motivated since you will be creating your own projects and deciding how you spend/ manage your time. You have access to a very talented group of artists/ designers from all the departments, so it's very easy to stay inspired. The campus has many resources, especially the library. Some facilities are less than adequate, such as the Print Media Department but each department gets different funding. This institution lacks diversity and cultural understanding so that can be discouraging to people of color. I learned a lot."

"My experience at Cranbrook has been indescribable. This program is studio intensive, no curriculum, no grading. We work closely with the artist in residence to help develop a working studio practice and a sound body of conceptual work. The academic resources are limitless. Critical studies, reading groups, department critiques, filed trips are all accessible to the students. This school is for a self driven individual. No one is going to take a attendance and making sure you're participating. The work you put out will be a testament to the work you put in. The best part of the Cranbrook experience for me has been the tight knit, family oriented community. We are all there, almost all the time and always willing to help one another on this interdisciplinary journey. There is no faculty it is inaccessible from the president of the Academy and onward. I definitely recommend this school to any artist who is self driven and willing to put in the work."

"Cranbrook is a great at program for many students wishing to excel in the field. In my field, 2D Design, Cranbrook has taught me the value of committing to independent practice and studio production. Critiques and reviews has allowed me to gain essential feedback on my artwork. However, the campus lacks diversity and understanding of experiences or the backgrounds of students of color. My goal at Cranbrook is to bring light to these issues through my work, to start a dialogue of acceptance and understanding of non-traditional themes in graphic design."
