"Dartmouth College offers an amazing liberal arts education with a wide array of disciplines that will prepare you for a career in any field or industry you are interested in! I found it amazing that I could take classes in any department outside of my chosen major simply because of my interest in them. The student body is unlike any I witnessed visiting or hearing about with any other school. Everyone is always kind and willing to go out of their way to help, and I think that speaks volumes about how tight-knit the Dartmouth community is."

"MCB is a great graduate (PhD) program. The program includes PIs with a large variety of research interests. Courses are stimulating, and there is a lot of opportunity to present your work both on campus and at international meetings. The school has a very collaborative feel, and students and PIs from other labs are almost always willing to help you with your research (troubleshooting ideas, sharing reagents/machines, offering protocols). It can be grueling at times, but I feel very prepared going into the Pharma industry. My number one piece of advice would be to not be afraid to ask for help, people are very nice!"

"Dartmouth College was a transformative 4 years. I knew this was the college I would matriculate to after visiting my senior year in high school. Of all the schools I visited, Dartmouth had the most enthusiastic and genuine student body I had ever witnessed. Students would literally go late to class and drop whatever they were doing to make sure I knew how to navigate the picturesque campus. Sure, the school could be more diverse and had it's share of shortcomings, but by and by the college on the hill had a intimate and friendly community, renowned academic rigor, and flexible term plan where you could travel the world and undertake internships whilst completing your classes in earnest. All in all, this small college was what you made out of it. If you strove to have a cosmopolitan friend group, engage in a plethora of extracurricular activities, and study effectively--making sure to unwind on the weekends--you'd feel yourself grow as an individual and transform into someone ready to tackle the corporate world, head on."

"Be sure to prioritize networking! Overall it is a great school, but do not be too distracted with the college scene/ social life. It is more important that you seek out the right resources and develop mentorships with appropriate professors and counselors."

"Think about this degree before doing it. The school is top tier with fantastic resources but this is not a typical masters degree in that it is highly subjective with no real value. It is very expensive and the lack of a single focus student body leaves you without peers in your field. If you want a master's degree get a real one in a specific discipline or don't do it at all. Contrary to perception the reputation of the school doesn't really translate to this degree."

"Pros: small class, diverse range of 3rd year clerkships around the country, great faculty to student ratio, quality of education is very high. Cons: rural location may not be for all, a car is essential to get around, things can be expensive."

"MALS at Dartmouth is a brilliant program. The instructors are the best in their fields and they are dedicated to helping students learn. The College is small and quite a ways from a big city but the education makes up for the lack of a social scene."

"The MCB graduate program is an umbrella program that gives incoming students the option to rotate in different types of laboratories in 8 different departments including laboratories in the engineering school. This gives incoming students a variety of options to choose from. Additionally, being a small (relatively) graduate program, graduate students have the option to spend more one-on-one time with their mentor in contrast to large schools where mentors are typically busy running a 50 person laboratory."

"Pros: All of the faculty, staff, and graduate students are always very supportive. The astronomers are all very close and spend time outside of the office together. The work is challenging but manageable. The Dartmouth Coach is convenient. Public Transportation is free. Cons: If you don't like outdoor activities, there isn't much else to do in Hanover."

"The teaching at Dartmouth is exceptional and the professors are very approachable. The Dartmouth run off campus programs are amazing and most students take advantage of them. The coming and going of students on campus creates a dynamic atmosphere - one that promotes the sharing of new ideas. The school spirit is incredible too - just a very special place to go to school."

"What advice can you offer other students?Do not acquire significant loan debt without performing proper research/due diligence on your investment. Apply for internships in your potential career to evaluate whether or not the degree program is a good fit."
