"The school doesn’t do a good job at monitoring their community. There’s been a lot of times that I’ve witness or happened to be in situations that could’ve been prevented by good security and RA’s. It’s not easy accessing information that should be granted and it’s the most expensive private school I’ve been in. Of course, I made the mistake of listening to their sales pitch. First, be aware of who you are before deciding if this is the school for you. I wouldn’t recommend on campus living to anyone if it hasn’t changed since the pandemic."

"Incredible Experience, The Small classes were what I needed to succeed. It’s Deff not everyone’s cup of tea and I get that. But I was pushed academically and athletically (lacrosse) in a way that was perfect for me. It’s a great school for student athletes."

"For a person who can emerge in any environment, this school provides that atmosphere. The population is size, most people become neighbourly. A personal relationship with the teacher is manageable, but may interfere with work situations. Teachers tend to gravitate towards students that engage, and the school has been working on breaking the inclusivity. It is an overprice school for the experience they provide, unless you make the effort to organize the right materials for success."

"If you are a nursing, pre-med, dance, business major this school is for you. Anyone with other career aspirations I would look at a different school. Their main focus is on those four majors. I had aspirations to go into the animal science field. Before I went to the school, during my visit they filled me with hope that advisors and career services would help you achieve your dream goal. This was not the case. I was on my own for majority of my four years. Career services focuses mainly on their business students and the science department focuses mainly on their pre-med students. I paid a lot of money to end up having to advise myself on how to go into the animal field. I will say the campus is beautiful, the class size is great, and the town of San Rafael is very ornate."

"This degree program was great at educating the whole person. Dominican has mandatory courses in field work/internships, many different areas of psychology (business, counseling, etc.), and a senior thesis. The senior thesis allowed me to be published and travel across the country presenting my research."

"I have decided to apply to Dominican University of California Physician Assistant Studies Program because I want to become part of a close-knit and supportive team that values service, community, and diversity. I admire Dominicans commitment to diversity and respect for each individual regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. I believe that Dominicans PA program will not only prepare me to become a proficient and compassionate PA, but also a provider who is culturally sensitive to a wide range of patients. "Dominican is a small university so the classes are small. Professors are committed to seeing you succeed. It's not about just turning in a paper and getting a grade. The professors work one-on-one with you to help you be the best you can be. The work is challenging but not daunting. My favorite part of the program was sharing some of my classes with undergraderates (really smart young kids), which gave our class a broad spectrum of life experience. This made our discussions in literature and philosophy classes especially rewarding. This school is also the leader in teacher "big history", making it broad minded. Most of the professors are committed to engagement learning, meaning less emphasis on lectures and more focus on guiding the class to find the answers on their own. Of all my college years, these past two years have been the best."

"They are improving the school, which is great because they are getting more experienced and better teachers. Tuition is high. Diversity is low. Campus is esthetically pleasing, but don't be fooled. Cafeteria and library are not 24/7 and WIFI is questionable as well."

"I enjoyed the school. It is small, but in the last few years it has grown and has more opportunities available for students."

"I knew I would learn to be a better thinker and writer when I applied to this program, but I had no idea just how much I would improve. I am half way through this program. For the first time in my life, I see myself able to accomplish very high level, intellectual pursuits. I will come out of this program as highly skilled and excellent writer, capable of more than just genre writing. My only wish is that they allowed more than just 9 flex units towards the degree so we could take more writing and literature courses."

"Dominican is a great option for students looking to earn a teaching credential in the Bay Area. It's a small campus, easy to get to via public transportation, and very safe. I would say I recommend it most for the grad student. It's not a huge party school--it's best for students looking for a quiet place to focus. It's a beautiful campus with a rich history."

"I appreciate that Dominican's curriculum is completely aligned with the BBS standards. I knew I wouldn't need to worry about not taking something I'd realize I would need later. I have colleagues who needed to go back and take classes and study harder for the exam, learning information for the first time. I felt that my studies were all review of what I'd originally learned at Dominican. Many of the teachers were great. I did wish that there were more excellent teachers in this program."

"Dominican is a school that will greatly benefit those who enjoy being part of a small community and want to learn. The psychology program and it's professors are extremely knowledgeable, dedicated, passionate and willing to go the extra mile for students. While the cafeteria food was not very exciting, the people and beautiful grounds more than made up for it."

"When I first arrived at Dominican, the biology program was the only science major offered. Dr. S. was instrumental in developing the systems necessary to provide such an amazing new sciences building, and for growing our school's science offerings. I am absolutely blown away by how much our program has grown, from a tiny trailer on campus to the state-of-the-art building behind Meadowlands. I have to say that my friendships from my time at Dominican remain strong to this day. Dominican is a place that welcomes everyone, and as long as you want to be a part of the action, you will be. Our school is big enough to expose you to a variety of cultures and opinions, and yet small enough to know most people by name, including the faculty and staff. It is an ideal place to foster creativity and ingenuity, and I would recommend my school to anyone looking to find a place to call home."

"Dominican University of California allowed me to customize my degree, and were flexible enough to allow for things I am certain other schools wouldn't. The instructors were tremendously helpful all along the way, and I especially loved the Dante course taught by Professor Winkler. It's an oasis for learning, and the campus is beautiful as paradise."

"Dominican University of CA gave me more than just a Bachelor's Degree. It gave me opportunities to explore my interests, professors, who were passionate about their chosen fields of specialization, and the confidence to pursue my career goals with vigor. After DU, I was accepted directly into a graduate degree program, and I was immediately employed after completing graduate school, despite a then-crummy economy and job market. My career has continued to flourish, and I believe that's in large part due to the solid educational foundation Dominican provided me."

"Dominican university of California is a great school. The best part of the university was not only the small class sizes, but the people. The people on campus from administration to faculty to students were all pleasant to be around and actually cared about you and your career. Like most people I met lifelong friends (both students and admin) and fortunately by husband at Dominican. I would never change the experience I had for anything."

"Being a small school Dominican provided the opportunities and resources to double major and graduate in 4 years. Early on in my academic career I was able to sit with faculty and staff, identify my passions and a plan on how I can take full advantage of my tuition and credits to graduate on time and with two degrees. Then as I progressed academically I had the support to handle my course load as well as be fully integrated into the tight knit campus community."

"I graduated with a BA in Psychology in 2008, and while I didn't take the pych career path, I feel like my education at Dominican helped shape and prepare me for the world. Dominican has a holistic approach to education and incorporates the values of study, reflection, community and service into the curriculum. Students are encouraged to participate in study abroad programs, internships and community service. While at Dominican, I went to Paris for Spring Break and traveled through Asia, Africa and Europe through Semester at Sea. When I returned, I started an internship as a counselor. My senior year was dedicated to my thesis, The Positive Effects of Mother Daughter Relationships on General Well Being. My advisor and teachers coached me during the entire process. I presented my thesis at the Western Psychology Association convention and it truly was one of my proudest moments. After I graduated, I traveled more as a flight attendant for Virgin America, worked for a community foundation and in August, I got a position in the Alumni Department at Dominican as the Alumni Communications Manager. The essence of my job is connecting alumni to each other and back to the university, and I know the skills I acquired during my education are the roots to my success."
