"Overall a very good school. It has a friendly atmosphere. However, many of the professors lack real world professional experience. This makes the classes not as practical as they could be."

"The program at Duke is great and so is the university in general. The facilities such as study spaces and classroom are a little outdated. The city of Durham is not a nice place to live. In addition, it is extremely difficult to get around the city as the bus network is inefficient and unreliable."

"The masters program in economics is very flexible so that students can freely choose course work according to their purpose. This flexibility enables masters students to take phd courses and even MBA courses without any constraints. So, this program is suitable not only for students who aim for the future phd, but also for students who hope to get a job after graduation. However, Duke university is located in a boring suburban area. Thus, a low living cost is good thing though, off-campus life is not dynamic or active compared to other universities located in cities."

"Approachable faculty and a diverse student body are the greatest strengths of this program. Master students are an important part of the department and people will care about your career and research goals. You will meet students from a huge variety of backgrounds with diverse goals and this fosters the academically stimulating environment."

"Duke is great, not so much for surrounding areas unless you drive. Prices are relatively low and standard of living is relatively high. Program is highly flexible and students can choose up to a highly rigorous PhD level curriculum. Non-academic job market is fine for US residents, less than satisfactory for internationals."
