"I am currently in the last class of my degree however, due to the counselors disorganization I am unable to continue. I am on hold for 3 months now and unable to finish my degree. I would not recommend this school at all. Overall, I have had a poor experience. This is my second degree and 4th college attending in my life and so far it is the worst experience I have had. The office of field experience is horrible and I have had 3 different counselors working on my field experience. Every time they call they have no clue what is going on."

"Horrible School! I do not recommend this school, especially their online classes. This university has a high rank of graduate students who can’t get a job anywhere, incompetent teachers who have no clue about the subjects. They are basically just in it for the money, but they can’t answer any of the student questions. I repeat, do not go to GCU, it is the worst school in the US. They will get your money, you will learn absolutely nothing. In addition, they would try to appear as Christian, but they truly are not. You will find out quick by their actions, they are not true Christians."

I have no negative feeling about this school.A friend that I recommended the school to graduated right after me and we are enjoying a wonderful nursing career. "I'll get straight to it. Christianity has become a laughing stalk here in America. Far too many people claim to be Christian, yet their behavior is nothing like one. Don't even think about going to this school. They are greedy. GCU is focused on separating you from your money. Nothing else. They have ridiculous hidden fees that your counselor will not mention, until it is time to take your money. Then they will copy and paste everything into a nice email for you. Like all schools, they are gung ho in their recruiting pitch to get you hooked. Then you better hold on for a bumpy ride. I am not trying to suggest there aren't other predatory schools in America. But when a school puts a cross on their emblem and claims to be Christian, I hold them to a higher standard. GCU is pathetic."

"GCU’s ABSN is the absolute worst program. Both Sun City & Tucson locations are a mess. Professors are awful & won’t teach you a single thing. They make the admission process easy to get you in with promised lies of how it will be. You would think you would know at that point that it is too good to be true. Your education is more important to wait & find a better program to jump into one that will leave you 50k in debt with no help from instructors. Obviously nursing school is hard but to have faculty who do not even teach you anything & directors who won’t hear out your concerns is an absolute joke. They are only there for the money which you will find out as soon as the first week starts. Completely unorganized & very few resources offered. Sure they have “online tutoring” which is a professor going over a premade PowerPoint, no actual help is being implemented. You ask professors questions & they literally won’t have an answer for you. Ridiculous, save yourself, & whatever you do… DONT choose this program."

"The ABSN program is very poorly managed with little support, they advertise they have an nclex pass rate of a 100% but beware! They choose not to disclose their attrition rate (about 1/2 of student cohort on average fail out whether that be entirely failing out or repeating a semester; only get one chance). Many professors are not qualified to teach, very lazy at times especially when doing “prepared” lectures. Nothing prepared to go over, just discussion which often times is side tracked. They are not understanding whatsoever but will protect their own faculty/professors/counselors at all costs no matter the offense. However, if we make a mistake, they don’t care what you have to say, as we are replaceable to them. Be prepared to teach yourself everything, the exams are so taxing sometimes feeling very Ill prepared during the exam even if you’ve read the entire book, done recorded lectures, and or went over PowerPoint slides. Tutoring sessions, most explore mores do not prepare you for the exam entirely depends on the professor. I personally for my second semester attended one lecture for pysch due to the incompetence of the professor. Be aware and think twice before you sign up! I know the application is easy but understand the potentiality of things and the stress."

"I felt GCU gets you in the door and not many things they told us were actually accurate. My daughers class size we ridiculous. 200 in 1 of them. They sold us on small class size. Not true. No one advised us of this ahead of time. $400 fee for her leaving at end of semester. No dinning dollars refund so we are out at least 1k. Student got shot from stray bullet. Roommate has boyfriend in her actual room all the time and no one does anything. My daughter would just go to someone else's room. I'm extremely disappointed in the school. Be aware of everything they tell you. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably isn't."

"Please do yourself a favor and look for a cheaper school. This school is so money hungry. You will get same degree with much less stress elsewhere. You will do all the work by yourself. Self taught courses with little instruction and clarification on assignments. The professor's don't help much and hard to get ahold of. The assistant dean and the site director are awful at the Sun City location. They will not respond for over a week. If you have Covid, don't tell anyone and just go is what they want. They "weed out" the ones that they feel are not fit to be a nurse. The schedule for exams, labs, and clinicals will change on a minute notice so if you live far away, you'll be late and not allowed in. The program lacks organization and communication."

"I am completely disgusted and devastated. I enrolled into this Grand Canyon University as an ADN, and was offered the RN to MSN program. After learning more about the program I decided to enroll. Here I am about to complete the program that I was told I was enrolled in, only to find that I will only be graduating with my BSN and not my MSN. When I asked why I did not receive my BSN diploma after completing my capstone course 6 months ago I was told that I would receive it with the MSN diploma at the end of the program. I am not entirely sure where the communication was lost in translation, so I am going to say that I think I was sold into this program under false pretenses, and am considering legal action. I am quite distraught to find this out 1 month before graduation."

"Honestly, the worst platform I’ve ever used. I’ve attended two other colleges/universities to obtain other degrees and this was the worst (and the most expensive). The program/class set-up was rigid and not a “go at your own pace” type of program. Unbelievably overpriced. Their communication was awful which caused a delay in me starting my practicum and the actual class platform was so not user friendly. There is no way to get notifications from the teacher or classmates when communicating within the class. No direct messaging for group projects. Bottom line, had I to do it all over again I definitely would have chosen a different school without a doubt."

"Im currently about 75% of the way through my ADN to BSN program at GCU. The program is fine. I saw some others saying how it is so tough and I wonder how they got their ADN. This program is much easier than my ADN from a community college. Im not a great student or great paper writer, but I have got straight As in this program. That is a lot different than my Cs and some Bs in my ADN. It does take some time each week, but they give you a rubrics to follow. If you just answer the questions you will do fine. Each teacher has their own quirks on what they want, but by the second paper you should be getting almost full points. The only question is how much of this am I actually using as a med/surge nurse and the answer is probably not much. It might be helpful to people that dont have much job experience, but for me it makes me think on some topics, but is more paying to get another piece of paper that keeps me employed."

There is a paper, an extensive project, 2 discussion boards and 6 replies spread over 3 different days required for each class. Balancing this work with your job and a family is nearly impossible. I will not be using them for my Master's degree because this is ridiculous."

"I attended Grand Canyon University because of the high regards from many former students and the positive reputation for their nursing program. I chose GCU because it was a bachelor's degree program and I knew that in the future I would need that degree as many healthcare organizations are now requiring nurses to obtain their BSN rather than and ADN. I attended a satellite campus, and I appreciated the close proximity to my house. I was not thrilled with the instructors and changes that took place during my time as a student. We had 3 different Deans in my two years of attendance and instructor turnover was high. My campus always go the short end of the stick in regards to clinicals, instructors, and communication. My cohort had to do a lot of self-teaching and learning. I appreciated the experience as it prepared me for my current program of online learning. I would not go back there as a student because of my experience. I hope that the program is more stable now and they have fixed any issues that I dealt with as a student."

"This is an amazing university that offers top of the line products to use within the simulation lab. GCU is the only university in AZ that leads an immersive simulation program, which aids in the progression of the nursing practice. They teach off of evidence-based practice and make sure to keep information up-to-date. Very affordable! Staff and faculty are beyond supportive."

"GCU seems very promising and, honestly, perfect when you first attend, but you quickly realize just how money-hungry the school is and how little they care about their students. While the campus if gorgeous and safe, faculty and leaders couldn't care less about the wellbeing of the students. Campus food is unreasonably overpriced (for example: a carton of eggs is $6), professors show no concern for struggles students are having outside of the classroom, and you aren't even allowed to temporarily park on campus to bring up your groceries without receiving a $150 ticket. The nursing program is disorganized, racist, and sets students up for failure. The program is more concerned about students representing the school well at clinical, then they are at actually teaching you how to be a nurse. I wish I would have attended ASU."

"I atttended GCU in 2016, directly after I received my ADN from a city college. It was a totally different experience to me because for one; I had never done online classes. Also, I knew it would take alot of discipline to be able to obtain this degree. I started looking and the recruiter was very helpful to me. After I reached out for information she stayed in contact. I had let her know I would not be able to start until I received my official license. The day my license posted the recruiter called me again and asked if I was ready to start. I was very enthused by this because to me; it showed interest and concern. I ended up starting the same month I received my license. At first it was hard, and difficult. I was able to call my counselor hash out different things and for the most part my teachers were very understanding. The only part I regret is that I took all my classes one at at time. Seeing as though when my friends heard about the program, they immediately enrolled and doubled up on their classes. Either way I graduated with honors and I am ready to start over again with my MASTERS. This time I will double up LOL."
