"Maryville College provided me with a sound liberal arts education. I am thankful to the professors that took the time to invest in my education. When I entered the work force I had critical thinking skills and written skills that stood out amongst my peers. I was challenged to think critically about the world around me. The curriculum at Maryville College fully prepared me for my current graduate studies at the University of South Florida (St. Pete Campus). Maryville has a strong study abroad program. I benefited from the program. On campus I was exposed to new cultures. I had international classmates and roommates that are now friends. I also had the opportunity to study abroad which broadened my global perspective. I continue to travel and use the skills acquired in the study abroad orientation. The senior study helped me improve my research skills and academic writing. I worked one on one with a professor that evaluated and critiqued my senior thesis. This process helped me grow academically. Maryville College encourages students to become involved in the local community. I was provided many opportunities to volunteer. I was also given the space to process the injustice I saw and given tools to help fight the injustice. I continue to volunteer and use the skills acquired. Maryville College provided me life long friendships and life-long learning. I have maintained contact with my professors and friends. I continue to feel supported by the Maryville College community and look forward to homecomings."
