"The academic program and faculty are fantastic. The surrounding area of Oakland and the Bay Area has a lot to offer in terms of opportunities and activities. The immediate area is not very safe but campus security is vigilant and there are shuttle systems to public transportation. My classes are very diverse which leads to high quality discussions. Faculty members are always going above and beyond for students."

"Mills College is an incredible and unique higher education institution. Some benefits to gain from Mills is the openness to building from the ground up and improving in all aspects. I appreciate the constant constructive feedback that is mutual between student and faculty. Another great component about the School of Education is the small, family-like environment that it so prominently supports and conserves. One part of the college that needs improvement is building an intercultural campus, and providing a socially, cultural safe space for all walks of life. Also, considering the high cost of tuition, Mills lacks important resources for students, such as scholarship/fellowship information, and has limited financial aid support."

"It was a great school but the faculty were not always supportive. Great admin over at the University with very great support for undergrads."

"This program is great due to the diversity of the students and the staff. The program is small so you get to know your peers and are connected to your instructors. I wish the school was more affordable but its worth the cost."

"Great school, great teachers, great program. The bay area is expensive to live in...so that is the main con!"

"The instructors at Mills are excellent and my fellow graduate students and I are supportive of each other. The low point for me is really the tuition price compared with other schools in the area and the limited scholarships available."

"I love the Social Justice aspect involved in are conversations surrounding Educational Leadership. I appreciate how Multiracial, Queer, Women's voices are validated and heard. The self regulation and reflection in this Master's program is a huge benefit as I take on more roles in Educational Leadership. However sometimes I wish the classes had more men it because even though Mills is historically a women's college it is open to men at the Master's level. I love the beauty of the campus and feel safe however go outside of the gates and your in the heart of a bad area of Oakland. The campus food is pretty bad as well but the library is great. I look forward to literally jumping in the pool that is open to students. The shuttle is great at it takes your from BART to campus. Also the computer lab is excellent!"
