"Originally I started taking classes at MiraCosta college without a lot of direction or a clear goal. I had completed some non-college online courses in computer programming, which were fun and introduced me to the basics, but didn't feel like they lived up to their promise of preparing me for a potential job in tech, and so I wanted to learn more. After completing my associate's degree at MiraCosta however, I was able to meet helpful instructors who mentored and advised me, work with a diverse range of students on long-term projects, participate in local CS competitions, and ultimately find an internship in the tech industry."
