"If looking to advance further into the healthcare field I can only speak on that since that's what I went to NTI for, if day look around at community colleges rather then here. It is short but I felt as if this school and my qualifications weren't respected after graduating my horizons didn't broaden after graduating but it sure costed a pretty penny for 6 months of training."

"I went to NTI for billing and coding in 2014. The schedule worked for me having 3 young kids and a full time job. I had the flexibility to fit my hours in when I could without missing time with my family and was able to learn at their facility without being distracted with household tasks. I was able to do an externship at a local billing office and passed my CPC exam on the first try. I got a job right off at a large hospital organization and have moved up the ladder since to a coding specialist. I had a great experience. You get what you put into it."

"I attended the Lewiston Campus for Medical Assisting back in 2017. The instructors (clinical and administrative) were amazing, always checking in to make sure their students were staying on track and to see that we were understanding the curriculum, they provided excellent hands on training for phlebotomy and EKG skills training. I would definitely recommend NTI for anyone seeking to enter the medical field. It’s fun and a positive learning environment , and you learn all the skills needed to become a medical assistant, phlebotomist or medical code in a short period of time. Thank you NTI staff and instructors for an amazing learning experience and guiding me to my career goals."

"Will never recommend this school to anyone. The Bangor campus is a joke of a school. Waste of time and lots of money. Local hospitals won’t even employ NTI graduates and that says enough. Career services advisor won’t return emails and has not shown up for meetings with students."

"If you want a quality education do not pick this CDL course. They are all about the $$$$. More students means more money but with anything the more people the less individual instruction. Classrooms are small, overcrowded and have little ventilation. Instructors have poor attitudes and hostile to those who dare ask questions. They hate the administration for forcing to many students on them and take it out on the students. It almost appears they want more failures in order to validate their point that there are to many students. Driving time in the yard and on the road is a joke. Half the day is spent just waiting. Students are upset and instructors don't care. The more upset and angry a student is, the more they complain to the administration. Equipment is constantly breaking down. 18 students waiting to use the few running trucks. Instructors are unprofessional and do not care. Most of the time just sitting around watching or grab-****** with the students. Absolute waste of months and money."

"I would totally recommend NTI for the CDL program. I thought the teachers were all approachable and knowledgable. They were very patient and encouraging and helped me learn something that was very intimidating at 1st. I would also like to say that although the actual on the road time is limited, (so everyone gets time) there are yard trucks that are always available to practice all the other skills required to pass the exam. I learned how to drive and got my license and they stood by me through the whole process. Thank You!"

"I'm a vet, they told me with my tuition assistance I wouldn't have to pay anything out of pocket but they jacked up my paperwork and about a year after I graduated I got a call from collections saying I owed them 5 grand. So I go back to the school house in Bangor to talk to them about it and the guy was a total d****** and tried to make it out like I was some sort of delinquent. Asides from that the class was a joke. You just take turns reading from the dot commercial regulations book that you can get for free at the dmv. And as for drive time you get very little and the trucks are pretty old and crappy."

"This School is a big fat joke would not encourage to go here. All they do is lie and tell you what you want to hear. As a matter of fact I have had people tell me they were interested in going there and I told them to stay as far away as possible. So people please do some research before going to this school."

"DO NOT GO TO NTI FOR YOUR CDL! The instructors do not help you at all, they show you how to do something once and then sit in the office all day. They have 2 trucks between 14 students so most of your time will be standing around waiting for your turn. The instructors blame the student for the trucks not working. They promise you 12 hours behind the wheel and I only got 9 hours. They lie about it to meet state requirements. After you complete the course you will not be scheduled for your License exam for 3 weeks so you will be rusty by the time you go for your test. I wish I knew how terrible NTI was before I put myself $7,000 in debt."

"I attended NTI in Bangor Maine. This school is a total joke. They know that anyone wanting a CDL needs access to a truck to take your road test. They exploit this by charging 6300.00 for their training program. The class work is not even needed. Study the material from the state and take the states permit test is all that is needed. Driving time required by the state is 18 hours. I did not even come close to the driving time needed. It is obvious that they fudge the books to show that everyone has completed the time needed to test for a license. If I had it to do over I would go to a national carrier like Werner, Schneider, Prime or Western Express and take their in house program which pays you to get your cdl."

"At NTI, they prefer to insult and humiliate their problem students in front of their classmates instead of talking to them in privacy like they do in other health-related classes. I have been to a number of healthcare classes where they offer everyone a private conference and offer constructive advice instead of being rude to them in public. Students who are not selected for an externship are not even told the reasons why. This leaves them with no idea what they need to work on after leaving the program. I was a witness to one teacher permitting a group of students to disrupt the class when they knew people were taking exams and trying to study. They got very little discipline and the teacher even acted like she enjoyed their company. With the multiple choice open book exams, I used to be able to match up the program material with the test questions, sometimes without even understanding what I was reading and only knowing what the words meant and nothing more. On the good side, I had teachers who taught me about the WORD program so I ended up know how to handle this. I also was able to gain knowledge from the computer program and like others have pointed out, you can buy this directly from the company at a lower price."

"It is basically watching videos and doing labs online all day, with little to no hands on experience. You can purchase those lab videos for 1/5 of the price you will pay at NTI. it is definitely a school for profit. If you get any financial aid they will take the most amount they can and you pay the rest, but because of the worthless degree you will end up being in debt anyway. Cannot recommend that place to anyone."

"I DO NOT recommend NTI what so ever the staff are rude and are only interested in your wallet. In the IT section you are charged 12000 to sit there and watch videos from a program that you can pay the website directly for everything less than two grand. The instructors haven't taken the program and there are constant problems with the program working. You don't get credit for doing any school work online with their program unless sitting in the school. Their dropout rate is so low because if you fall behind in schoolwork or have any problems showing up they drop you and take your money not affecting their scores, and if they drop you and you would like to return they charge you full price tuition plus an extra fee for being dropped. Everything said NTI is the worst decision I have ever had the displeasure of making."

"I just graduated yesterday from NTI's HVAC/R program, and I start my new job on Monday. Such an awesome experience from the time I first walked in the door, spoke to Admissions (they were not pushy like another school that just started offering hvac in So Portland - that school seemed so desperate for me to enroll and had zero graduates and zero job placement). Anyway, the admissions person really listened to me, and didn't try to sell. The financial aid lady was just as good. And the instructors were outstanding. Our entire class did great, we all got jobs. I can tell you, that the folks at NTI really care about students, love what they do - it shows every single day."

"I attended the Clinical Medical Assistant because after comparing all other schools in the area, NTI had more hands on in the Laboratory (almost 250 hours versus only 80 at the Community College). And it only took me 7 months to complete compared to two years at all the other schools. I was also impressed by their job placement. I loved the training, passed my certification on the very first try and they arranged SEVEN interviews for me the 3 weeks PRIOR to graduation. I had 3 job offers within a week after that. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NTI to everyone and anyone interested in going back to school"

"I went to NTI to become a medical assistant. I visited another school in Sanford but my friend did not have a very good experience there. Mostly I didn't feel pressured and they were very helpful during admissions. The teachers were very friendly and helpful and I was able to do some of the classes from home. My clinical class was great and I made some good friends. Overall I really liked the classes a lot, I learned a lot and I got a really good externship. Not five stars because I don't think anyplace is perfect and there were a couple things that could have been better (longer break for lunch!) and it was a lot of work. But I guess it is supposed to be a lot of work.Would definitely recommend to someone who doesn't want to go to a college and just wants to get through and go to work."

"Completed their Clinical Medical Assistant program in less than 7 months. Great approach to learning with lots of flexibility and hand-holding. Labs are great with no more than 10 students in class. School has excellent externship and job placement support. Heading out for a job interview tomorrow. Great experience."
