"I attended Northwestern University from 2005-2009 and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Communication Studies from the School of Communications. I cannot say enough about the quality of the education I received at Northwestern. Everything from the faculty, to the other fellow students, to the advisors were there to constantly challenge you and promote higher level thinking. Once I decided what my career path would be, Northwestern had all of the resources to make sure I was adequately prepared to enter the real world upon graduating. There was plenty of opportunity to meet with advisors and enroll in internships within my field of interest to expose me to the field. I had three internships over the course of three quarters, each in a different realm so that I could make the best decision for myself as a graduate as to which direction I wanted to take my career. I interned in a large marketing firm, at a talent agency, and at a luxury fashion brand, all of which I truly enjoyed. There was also plenty of opportunity to meet students from all over the world. It was a very diverse student body and many clubs to be a part of and get involved. Many of the friends I made during my time at Northwestern are still some of my closest friends today. They have some of the nicest facilities for students to enjoy, great sporting events to give students the college experience without sacrificing higher-level education, and studying abroad opportunities to encourage broader thinking. I would recommend Northwestern in a heartbeat to anyone considering it. Plus, its on a beautiful lakefront campus only a train ride away from the hustle and bustle of Chicago."

"The MS in Communications program at Northwestern is one of the best in the country. Students commute from other states on a weekly basis to be part of the program. This is a testament to the exceptional education provided. One has to be willing to put in the work to fully capitalize on this great opportunity."

"The IMC program is so applicable to the things I do at work everyday. I truly enjoy going to class at night and find value in all of the courses I have taken so far. I highly recommend this program."

"MTS is a really unique communication program. It may not hold the rankings of some of the other top comm programs, but it really isn't trying to compete. Pros: - World-renowned faculty doing really innovate research. Very approachable and well connected to the students. - Very economically supportive. Stipend is comparable to that in cities with much higher cost of living. And there are plenty of resources available for research funding, travel funding, etc. - Supportive environment for those staying in academia, but also for those who are looking at industry jobs. Faculty is very well connected with Facebook, Google, etc. Cons: - Class offerings are slim. - Due to the program being highly lab-based, there isn't a strong community amongst the graduate students."

"Northwestern is a top-notch graduate university and I love my program. Having professors who are highly sought after in their field is fantastic, but it means they are not always as accessible as I would like; however, I have always felt that the proverbial door was open should I have questions or concerns."

"The program does prepare you for a career as a speech-language pathologist, however, there is a lot lacking in terms of financial aid and support. The program does not give enough individualized attention and benefits for the cost. They do not offer student research or teaching assistantships, which can be very limiting in terms of financial aid prospects."

"Overall, your success in this graduate program depends on the level of work and commitment you provide. It is a wonderful program to have on your resume, and is worthwhile if you are seeking a career jumpstart or a new direction. The wealth of knowledge and experience is indescribable."

"The caliber of the academics and students is high. The professors are all very accomplished, have good connections in the field, care about their student's learning, and generally are good teachers. Graduate students in CSD start clinical work within the first year of attendance, so you find out quickly how to apply what you learn in class. The biggest drawback is tuition, especially for master's students. There is hardly any scholarship or financial aid other than loans. A lot of loans."
