Don’t go to South!

"Do not go here! This place is a waste of time and money! Not only is south one of the most disorganized schools I have ever been to they do not care about their students (not even their safety). They have an unethical professor as the head of the Masters of Clinical Mental Health program. She cares so little about her students that she put a few women who have no contact orders due to sexual harassment with their perpetrator ON PURPOSE! What counselor let alone professor is allowed to keep their job after literally traumatizing students and proving that she cannot do her job. As head of the department she knew the situation and chose to have a mandatory meeting in the perpetrators classroom (this tells me she either doesn’t care about the safety of the students or that she can’t do her job and is putting students in harms way). If knowing that sexual harassment occurs at this school and that if it happens to you they will not care and you may be forced to be with them anyways doesn’t scare you enough then continue reading.. Sexual harassment is only part of the problem at this horrific school. They care about their student so little that they give the class schedules out days before or into the semester (how anyone is supposed to plan around that is absurd). If you complain about it they will give you a laundry list of reasons and excuses for their poorly run school. Dr.Lawrence (the same professor who enjoys traumatizing students) has multiple complaints against her for not teaching. This expensive school thinks that assigning presentations and not adding or giving any feedback (so nobody even knows if what they are presenting is correct) is teaching. This professor hates teaching so much that numerous movies were played, to the point that instead of going over the final we watched a movie. I don’t know about you but I don’t need to pay someone 40K to get a Netflix degree. This school obviously has a staffing issue since the last head of the department, Dr.Cross have my internship site the wrong end date and forced me to be behind in my hours. They have changed the program multiple times without telling anyone! I was enrolled in the wrong program for months and had to have multiple meetings with multiple people for them to even address it. If something goes wrong or you have a problem understand that nobody at South wants to accept responsibility for their actions so getting meetings can take weeks since they actively ignore you and each person will tell you something different. The fact that I have a literal laundry list of complaints tells you to run away from this school as fast as you can! There was one professor in the program who actually cared about the students and that’s Dr.Wilson. The only good experiences I had at this university were with the one person they fired (funny how they fired the professor who cared and promoted the unethical one who traumatizes her own students). Be careful who you talk to each person will tell you something different and give incorrect information over and over. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME!"

"I wouldn't recommend this South University in Austin, Tx. to anyone, not good staff and very expensive. Not concerned about the students, just your money and don't care anything about how you feel. I didn't get a chance to graduate because of compliances with staff incompetence."

"I attend South University for a couple of years for Nursing Program. Didn' t feel safe or protected, you have a badge to enter the school, yet most people who attend the school opens or leave the front door open behind them. The staff doesn't follow the rules in which they give you through the student handbook policy. The staff holds you responsible for not agreeing with there staff. They protect each other, not you as a student. They need to replace all new staff including the president, dean, and most teachers. I regret wasting my time and money at this University. On a scale from 1 to 10 and 10 is the worst, I give it a 10 the worst University I ever attend from the staff to expensive tuition."
