"The Southern California Institute of Architecture has a long standing belief that it is a dark sheep on the west coast. It is a program that attempts to really push design over all other architectural focus. You could certainly favor more engineering or philosophy, but this school really attempts to push the boundaries of visual representation and physical experimentation. My time there has been liberating academically, because I was guided in the appropriate way for me to learn properly. As a result I became more engaged and desired greater knowledge. No longer was I bored trying to figure out what I wanted too do, but made the education my own. Now Im working on a masters degree and couldnt have been happier with the foundation of my education from SCI-Arc."

"SCI-Arc taught me valuable skills such as 3D modeling software and digital/analog fabrication. With state-of-the-art robots and latest 3D printing technologies, SCI-Arc is obsessed with the future, which can be fun in the moment, but a problem when you're working at an architecture firm doing real projects on earth. I enjoyed my 5 years at SCI-Arc, but feel like many of the added bonuses (such as the latest technologies) were a distraction to preparing me for real-life valuable architecture skills sets. SCI-Arc is also very expensive and I carry a very heavy debt burden."
