"During the time of my studies I was very eager to learn and to extend my already large interest in the subject. Also, during the time I graduate with this degree the P & R program was dwindling to a few professors, but those who were there were incredibly supportive and eager to give their time and knowledge of the college process, especially since I wanted to go on to graduate school in the subject. If the department is still in any way like it was when I graduate it is a good department and worth pursuing."

"SUNY Old Westbury has a fantastic accounting program that I would highly recommend. The professors are knowledgeable and helpful. The degree put me in an excellent position to pass the CPA exam. But I would caution who except to receive a well rounded education. The school's other academic departments lack the muscle to provide this type of education."

"I love the MS in Mental Health Counseling program at Old Westbury. I like structure so it was good to not have to figure out my schedule because that was already done. The professors and faculty are great, including the director of the program. They do their best to make sure you are getting what you need academically, socially, emotionally, etc. I have recommended two of my friends to attend the program because of how good I think it is. The only thing I would change is the long lines at Bursar and Registrar. Those problems, however, are across the board and are not specific to the program. I feel prepared to pursue my doctorate degree and have received excellent references."

"The accounting program is a very demanding one. So far all the professors I've taken are in the accounting field during business hours. As a whole, the students around campus are not very diverse, but the students in my classes are. Excellent transportation provided by the school's shuttle bus(brings you to the train station and back with other stops). The campus is huge. I feel I'm getting the best quality education for my money."

"The SUNY Old Westbury Mental Health Counseling Program is an invaluable experience. Most of the professors are brilliant and true experts in the field. They will push you academically and emotionally in order for you to realize your full potential. You will learn so much about yourself in addition to counseling. The program is very vigorous and you are locked in from the beginning (you cannot choose your schedule). However, this helps you bond with your classmates in a way that wouldn't be possible if you could choose certain classes. The program is very small so you will get the attention and guidance you need to succeed."
