"Thomas Jefferson is a great school. Some of the cons is 1. the student apartments, it is a very old building and the appliances are not modernized, 2. actually walking to class from apartments could be scary, there is lots of homeless and could smell like urine at times,3. the cost of living in this older building is a little high considering the space and actual apartment 4. financial aid could be a little hard to deal with but overall they get things done (just time consuming). However there are lots of pros, 1. the professors I had are great they are very helpful and actually care about the students, 2. lots of resources are available if you need help."

"The faculty at TJSL is sensational. They're all ivy league graduates, whom all had successful law careers. However, they choose to teach. That's right, their choice is to teach. This is the first time where the saying "those who cannot do, teach," simply is not relevant because every professor at TJSL has done it all! There aren't many cons, besides the tuition amount."

"The pros of my graduate program allows for a vast network of employment opportunity for a bilingual (spanish/english) person like myself living in San Diego. The graduate program also has the professor and other educational assistance readily available. The cons of my graduate program is that the tuition and cost of living is expensive"

"Love the school and the professors. Passionate people who will push you to your limits. Students are relatively diverse, considering the majority of students are not from CA. Moreover, the students ages vary. Many left their careers to pursue law, some have families, and some are recent college grads. Living in San Diego isn't half bad either, but not being able to see it as much as you'd like is the downfall. As of now TJSL is one of the most technologically advanced law schools in the US. It's a recently remodeled school, that's located in downtown."

"The school is in a brand new cutting edge technology building in the beautiful city of San Diego, CA. The classes are very interesting and the faculty is top notch. The only con is that as a part time working student, the work load is very difficult to manage."

"The graduate program is comparable and affords the opportunity to enter the job market, however the education is not competitive enough to give a graduate an advantage in the job market."

"Attending law school as a single mother is incredibly difficult, but was always a dream of mine. I was happy to be accepted to TJSL. Their new campus downtown is innovative, technologically advanced, and green. The campus and surrounding areas offer many nice places to eat, drink, and party, or watch a ballgame. Although there are some transients downtown, TJSL always has security guards on duty who are very friendly and smile and wave every day when I enter the building. The professors are top notch people who deeply care about the law profession and are passionate about teaching the next generation of lawyers. I've never once felt "ashamed" for attending a Tier 4 school. The professors come from Tier 1 schools but they all speak of TJSL with fondness and passion. The Alumni Association is very active with the school and within the community. They do a wonderful job throwing events and maintaining a well connected network. They put in a lot of FaceTime at the school and I have met several of them many times at events. I think the more that TJSL alumni get out there and prove that this school is serious about education and passionate about law, the more connections open up. The career office does a wonderful job informing students about internship opportunities and jobs. We receive emails on a regular basis and the staff helps quickly with any questions. They also help us edit our resumes and teach classes on writing a cover letter. They are fabulous and so nice. The externship/internship office and leader, Marybeth Tropp, are wonderful and endearing people who care about each of their students and our paths to becoming attorneys. She listened to my gripes and likes and has suggested other places I can intern at in the future. Overall, my first year at TJSL was an amazing year. I was very successful academically making it onto Distinguished Honor Roll both semesters. The staff takes care of us well and throws us a reception for achievement. There are many opportunities, panels, and discussions for students to attend. I applied to USD as a transfer student, but honestly I think I'd prefer to stay at TJSL because they are a wonderful school and I truly feel like it is a home away from home there."

"I feel as though the professors are available to assist the students, but it is difficult to get a hold of administration. The school is a new building in downtown San Diego, and it is beautiful. It has all of the latest technology available. Also, definitely great in assisting with networking and career services. Funding is limited and makes it difficult to obtain internships that are unpaid."

"Pros: The thing that impresses me the most is the level of dedication that most my professors have to the students. They come from an array of impressive backgrounds and are extremely passionate about their work. The entire faculty at the school has made it clear as to how much they care about the students' success. Cons: The lawyer skills course / program is very new and still needs to be developed. I think it could be extremely helpful to first year students, but the way it was conducted made most students take it less seriously."
