"Tuskegee University was a beautiful experience but is not for the faint of heart. You have to be willing to put your best foot forward regardless of the task at hand. It is expected of you to know your resources but to always make your best effort before just running to your professor. When you leave this university you will be prepared for whatever challenges you may face in your field in addition to great communication skills. I am grateful every day for both of these skills gained. I recommend Tuskegee University to anyone who is willing to put in the work and not give up at the first sign of adversity. With this being said no university is perfect and all have room for improvements. When it comes to my alma mater the financial aid department is one of the main down falls. The faculty is not always the most kind and will lose paperwork left and right. Financial aid is not always applied unless you stay on top of them. Dormitory life is not glamorous and does not have your latest appliances or technology, but it does build character. It truly humbles you and makes you grateful for the daily appliances and technology you personally own in addition to when you obtain your own living arrangements. Academically you will leave knowing everything you need to know. It will be a rough and bumpy road trying to figure out why the syllabus and the words out of the professors mouth dont correlate but it is worth it. Tuskegee does tend to have wonderful scholarships and a pool of diversity. There is no other historically black university like it."

"Majoring in Clinical Laboratory Science at Tuskegee has developed a level of sophistication, which has solely prepared me to deal with any level of complexity with ease. Colleagues, faculty, and professors have paved the way to greatness when coping with challenges as a student; I was able to experience southern hospitality and gain lifetime friends and family members. Tuskegee University will lead you to embark on a journey of your choice that will naturally gravitate towards your purpose because there is nothing like "Skegee's" experience."

"At Tuskegee University, I had the privilege and opportunity of fulfilling the dream of attending a historically black college. I had the opportunity to meet people that had a lifelong impression upon my life, professors that maintain high standards, and an environment and culture that helped to form me as an individual for my future. Participating in the marching band and the ROTC program were also life-changing experiences. I also had the opportunity to meet some of the original Tuskegee Airmen. Through my experience at Tuskegee University, I was able to have a work study program and a co-op experience with a major corporation. Free stuff and peers were very supportive and encouraging. I'm glad that I embarked on the Journey of attending Tuskegee University."

  • Degree: Veterinary Science
"The Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine is the smallest of all U.S Veterinary schools. For this reason, we are family. Faculty and students alike. The vet nary program is a very rigorous and high stress degree. However, we encourage each other to take a break to live, laugh and eat together. Once you are in the TU CVM family, we do not compete against each other but instead, we hold each other's hands until we all across the finish line. You could say at Tuskegee, no doctor is left behind! I interviewed at a few veterinary colleges prior to my selection. I chose Tuskegee because I believe the students to make the program. The students here are exceptional! If you were a feature student considering Tuskegee, come visit and experience Tuskegee yourself! You will not regret it."

"This program offers mostly small class sizes which allow students to work with professors one on one. Students receive stipends during their first 24 months of program study and are offered many opportunities to network with health care professionals and researchers. This program needs more funding to help students defray the cost of private school tuition, room and board."

"I love my school and I know that I would not have the support at any other veterinary school, but I wish that our program was more organized. Many of our courses waited until the last minute to assign 1-5 page papers that could have easily been assigned at the beginning of the year to alleviate much of the stress we are currently under. It is unfair to the professors who have to grade these assignments in time for grades to be entered, and it's unfair to the students who have to balance eight courses in one semester with five papers/presentations to also complete."

"I feel as though the program is an excellent one for anyone who has the desire to excel and succeed in the design field of architecture and construction science. The teachers are very intelligent and help to prepare the student academically both in and outside the classrooms and studios. I highly recommend this program."
