"I am currently attending van nuys the only reason why i am still continuing because I am goin to end up paying anyways... I cant complain with the instructor I had she was great amazing... but the school wise is very unprofessional, not organized whats so ever.. during your orientation you were told that a person from the career service will be helping you finding and getting to do your extern but lately alot of my classmates been graduating and they are all telling me differently, they have been the one thats been looking for a clinic to do their extern, 2 of my other classmates who graduated and done their extern yet the person trhat was supposed to be helping you is NOT helping at all...I think this school is bogus... its a waste of money, very unprofessional, school wise... on top of that some of the instructor there are so unprofessional, very rude and they dont even have degree on anything... I was lucky with the instructor I had very professional have knowledge and I learned alot thats the biggest reason why I stayed.. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE AT ALL... if I can take back time I wish I should've done more research on this school before I even enrolled here.."

"THE VAN NUYS AND ONTARIO CAMPUS DOESN'T HELP YOU AT ALL TO LOOK FOR A JOB LIKE THEY PROMISE IN THE BEGINING! I'VE LEFT 2 MESSAGES A DAY FOR 2 WEEKS AND THEY NEVER RETURNED MY PHONE CALLS! FROM EITHER CAMPUS. YOU GET THIS BIG LOAN OUT THINKING YOUR GONNA GET SOMEWHERE AND PROMISE YOU SO MANY OPEN DOORS AND ONCE YOU GRADUATE, THEY SHUT THE DOORS ON YOU! TRIED TALKING TO THE DIRECTORS FROM THE SCHOOL CAMPUSES AND THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO BE OUT IN A MEETING,NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONE,OR RETURN YOUR CALLS. THESE SCHOOLS SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! I SHOULD MAKE THEM PAY FOR MY LOAN AND ALL THE OTHER LOANS EVERYBODY ELSE TOOK OUT FROM THIS CAMPUS AND HAD BAD EXPERIENCE FROM THESE SCHOOLS! THIS "COLLEGE" SUCKS! THEY SHOULDN'T EVEN BE CALLED A COLLEGE."

"i want to be a dentist so i decided to go to dental assisting school to see what its about. the first month they treated you like a queen or king and after you cant leave the school or get your money back after a month it turns into hell! my girlfriend was in the same class as me and we were very professional no one knew we were together only our close friends in the class but we always worked hard and always got a 4.0 GPA every month not playin around either. when the teacher found out i was going out with my girlfriend she started bothering us. seperating us which is ok i let it go. but then she started saying us being there bothered others education when i had the whole class say we dont. she then yelled at me because she said i was doing something wrong when its ok because thats what we are there for to make mistakes there to get better in the real world. well i told her she didnt see me when she didnt! and she yelled at me in front of everyone and told me if i didnt like it there i know what to do. well instead of being an adult about me making a mistake since IM the one paying for my education and im the one who is allowed to make the mistakes there thats why im learning she instead yelled at me. then they suspended me for 3 days and didnt give me any papers to fill out when i think you should. i went back to class because to me its all bull. they called me up to the directors of education office and sat me down and wasted my education time over a stupid problem. my stupid teacher felt challenged by a student because she wanted to feel like donald trump. but i reminded her she works for me and if it wasnt for the students she wouldnt have a stupid job. also i would beat her on Xray mounting after her 25 year experience and my 2 month experience. haha! anyways the director of education and everyone else there were all jerks! they called security to kick me out and didnt allow me to come back after 3 days with nothing signed! after 3 days they had a meeting with me saying i need to transfer to a night class to stay away from my class?!?!? i dont know why. i said i couldnt due to work and stuff. then they droped me and are now sending me my $7050.11 cents bill and is not in collections. ruined my life and straight up wasted my time."

"Going to this school makes me feel as if I am in a war zone. I drive 50 miles round trip for an education that I am not getting. My teacher is unprepared and has an excuse for everything. She whines about her situation as a teacher. This is supposed to be an adult school, but that's a joke. Security is constantly in out classroom. The Administrator is constantly yelling about people not attending, but who really wants to. The lessons are a joke. My teacher gives answers to the worst students. They are just passed along. Lets talk about academics. The lessons are incomplete. The material isn’t up to date. My teacher DOES NOT hold a teaching degree. She can not even do basic fractions. She is an experienced Medical Biller, and after taking an exam, qualified as an Instructor for UEI. My teacher teaches differently then the books. Not every student has a recent book. The computers and programs used are from 6-10 years ago, and don’t always work. The student work areas are old broken down tables, with as many as three to a table. Chairs are old, bent, broken, or dirty. The classrooms are dirty. We had to take out CPR exams on a very dirty floor. WHERE DOES OUR MONEY GO?My third mod, I was told to go out and look for 5 extern leads, after my advisor told me they provided them. I was also told that I could do a work study program if I had good grades and attendance. So were the other 799 people in my school. Half applied for the one job opening. Why am I still there? Because the Federal Government comes after you for your loans, 6 days after you leave school. If you graduate, at least you have 6 months.I was told career service helps you to find a job, but when I visited my CS advisor, she gave me a temp agency hand out.I would never tell anyone to go to UEI. I would advise against it. I would strongly recommend a community college. 57% drop out in the first four months. 29% never see graduation. So how many really do graduate? Each month there are supposed to be a graduation. But UEI has not had one for four months. The last one only had one student. What does this tell you? Be smart. Take you $15,000.00 and run."

"I have a high GPA and great a reference from my externship and I never get job interviews. I've been networking outside of UEI to get a job and it's a slow path but I'm finding more on my own than from the school. They will send some students on a lot of interviews and I have gotten one in two months. The school experience was ok after they quit moving the location of our classroom. We got moved 5 times in 2 months. We had class sessions in the breakroom. Do not go here!"

I'M ACTUALLY A PHARMACY TECH INSTRUCTOR. YOU HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND NOT EXPECT OTHERS TO DO IT. NO MATTER WHAT THEY PROMISED."

"I started UEI college in Nov 2009, and I have already gone through 3 teachers. The El Monte UEI college doesnt have there things together. They cant keep teachers and when they do the teachers are not always here. I had a week without a teacher or sub teacher, loss of time there. When my 1st teacher got moved up to corp. he stopped really caring about his class. From day one starting at El Monte UEI college, my teacher would yell and use bad language when calling students on his phone on speaker phone to yell and degrade them about why they are not in class. No one went to the office about this behavior due to being told by our teacher that if he didnt want us there all he had to do was say something and we would be let go.I feel that this isnt right seeing that we picked to go here. And pay all this money for an education that we are not getting. its now april 6th and I havent learned much and Im stressed out all the time and hate going to school, and I have always loved going to school to learn new things, at which this time im not learning anything.I would say that yeah maybe some UEI colleges may be helpful but when it comes to UEI COllege look the other way because you wont get the education that you are paying for and they say that they wont give anything back or do anything other then bring in people to go over what you need help with on your time like 30mins before class and on our breaks. we have all given up more time then we should and havent gotten anything out of it."

"I had just finished with my class's on march 3. I have not yet to receive my externship. This is required for me to grad. I have had to been put on leave of absents so I don't get dropped from the program. The staff only cares about getting students in and signing the contract. Admissions will say anything to get you in. I have passed two certifications for computer systems tech. I have a 3.0 gpa. I have not been able to find a job. Every where I go people look at me funny when they see I went to UEI. I do not recommend this school to any one. In the middle of my 8 months they switched instructors and I had to adapt to a whole different learning structure. This school will put you in debt and will not help you at all. Go to city college its so much better and cheaper. Alot of my fellow class mates are in the same situation as I am. This is very disappointing. The labs are on are simulated computers .. you will not get any hands on experience. Please look for another way to get a career education. I don't want to see anyone else in my shoe's."

"I went to UEI for the Pharmacy Technician degree. As I write this review there are job openings for Pharmacy Technician Instructors on craigslist. But when I try to get any help from career services my emails go unanswered and I have never been given an interview by them for a job. I found my own extern site just like the other students there. The teacher was good but a little disorganized. Save your money-find a school that will make you go to a hospital and retail environment for your externship. You'll have a better chance of getting a job."

"i graduated from criminal justice at uei college in december. it is now march and i still cant get a job. the van nuys campus is really bad the entire building has something wrong. the staff is not helpful at all. they had promise me a job after the 9 months of the program and nothing. after graduating you are on your own no one helps you like they said they were. they do have a career services department but no one helps there. they have only 4 people to help with job placement for over 8 thousand students. how is that possible? now im stuck with a $15,000 loan and no job. i do not recommend this school at all. it will be the worse thing you can do."

"I enrolled at UEI for their Computer Networking class. I was really excited to think that I would be in a career where I would be able to succeed. I was told by their admission people that upon graduating with good grades and perfect attendance I would have a good chance in getting a job in the field. I was in school every day and received excellent grades. To my surprise, when sent to job interviews by their job placement department, I was devasted to find out that nothing I had learned was anywhere near qualified for a job as promised by their admissions people. I was told by employers that my training was not sufficient because I did not have any certifications. I am shocked because I had awesome grades but I couldn't even pass a certification. How is that even possible?! Now I know that their job was just to get me "in" and get me to so called "passing grades" so that the government would pay my financial aid. Now I am stuck with thousands of dollars in student loans and no job. Run the other way..."

"Save your money. Just like the other two review written here, you have to find your own externship. What is with that. They can take your money and you do what your suppose to do and then you have to do their job and find your own externship and job.You could most likely get a job and learn everything as on the job training and saved all that money. As far as getting your foot in the door, well that is bull."

"The Medical Assistant Program offered at UEI is great. The whole staff made it very easy and met every expectation that I had for the school. I learned about medical terminology, physical anatomy and physiology along with clerical and clinical topics. I landed a job within 1 week of finishing my intrenship. Thanks for for everthing."

"The program at United Education Institute is fantastic- besides the traditional training in human anatomy and physiology, I appreciated that they spent a significant amount of time on newer concerns such as the interactions between common medical treatments and massage therapy and current medical knowledge about the role massage therapy has in a healthy lifestyle. From day one UEI staff make it clear that we will learn most from each other, so fostering a cooperative learning process between classmates went a long ways towards everyone focused on learning instead of competing with one another. Our clinical teaching sessions and clinical patient sessions went a long ways towards making it feel that we were learning and were the reason why I was confident to go out and work right after finishing the course. The course provides the hours necessary to acquire the Registered Massage Therapist designation, but you have to take another exam first. This was an excellent program, and it could not have prepared me better for the job I would be doing when I finished any better than it did."

"I loved that I was able to get my certificate in only eight months. The teachers were great. I guess the only negative thing is that the classes are a little hard. But, they have to be so that you can get your certificate quickly and be prepared to be a pharmacy technician. I was prepared for my career and easily obtained a job."

"The coursework was a lot of hands on. The teacher would show us how to perform a task, then we would practice with other students and be tested at the end of the week on it. We had a written test every week also that we would study for. It made it pretty easy to learn a little bit at a time. The teachers were very nice. We did a lot of group work, so I made a lot of friends there. The overall experience was pretty good. There was a lot of flirting with the teachers and the students. I didn't like that part. It did prepare me for a new career!!"
