"The Air Force Academy provided a slice of humble pie that was needed for me. The Academy provides an intense course load, military training and academic rigor that is unparalleled. It teaches many life lessons that I carry with me to this day. The first one is that life is not meant to be gone through alone. In no way shape or form am I condoning cheating but help is needed to make it through the Academy. You need the support of your classmates, friends and roommates. That was done for me through study sessions, proofreading and test prep. I would not have survived if it were not for them and I am forever indebted."

"My experience at the US Air Force Academy was fantastic. I made great, life-long friends. The academics were especially challenging but very rewarding. The instructors are amazing and they are wonderful mentors for aspiring Air Force officers. Freshman year is tough, but just lean on your classmates and it becomes bearable. The personal pride that you will feel at Recognition is amazing as long as you put forth maximum effort each day. Colorado Springs and Denver are amazing towns once you really have the opportunity to get out and see them over your last 2 years. I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to go through the zoo, and I would do it again in a heartbeat."

"The United States Air Force Academy is an outstanding university with the skills to prepare you for a rigorous career inside and outside of the Air Force. The professors bend over backwards to ensure you learn everything you can about your classes and your future career. You network with some of the most high achieving leaders from around the nation and the world. My experience there would not have been matched by any other school in the nation."

"The United States Air Force Academy is more than just a university. It is a way of life. You will be faced with extremely high expectations and strict rules of conduct. You must balance a daily, rigorous schedule consisting of academics, military training, athletics, and character development. You will be expected to maintain multiple leadership positions throughout the duration of your time as a cadet as well. Despite all of the rigor, the environment sets you up to succeed with easily accessible instructors and highly motivated peers."

"It's an amazing institution, and although rigorous, it's worth every second. If you can get in and have the determination to make it through, I would advise going to USAFA."

"Incredibly tough experience mentally, physically, and emotionally. Being a graduate definitely carries a level of prestige in the military and in the civilian world though, so most would say the experience is worth it. I highly recommend the Academy for anyone who wants to pursue a career as a pilot, as pilot training slots are much easier to get out of the Academy than in ROTC. For others, it may be a harder choice as the benefits compared to ROTC may be more subtle."

"It is a different kind of fun. The degree is amazing and the friends you make can be the best, but it's 4 years of arbitrary rules and frustration. If you can get through this, active duty will be no problem for you."

"I loved my 4 years at the Air Force Academy. A military academy is a very different experience from a "normal" college, so if you are interested in that I would recommend doing your research so that you know what you're getting yourself into. That being said, I felt that the professors and students at the Air Force Academy were amazing, and it is a wonderful learning environment and you form very close bonds with other classmates due to the unique environment."
