"Before Lynchburg College became the politically correct "University of Lynchburg", it had a niche in the private mid-south college rankings. It was a classy school for mostly upper-class white students, studying business-related degrees mostly. It advertised in the MD, PA, NJ, and local areas the most. It had a top-notch lacrosse, baseball and soccer team. It was on it's way to building and updating sports complexes and a new business hall, followed by a new cafeteria/student center. It went through some political changes in 2010-2013, when it renamed itself in an attempt to draw a "wider" social and economic audience, hired a new British, female LGBQT principal, and went on a spree on social media for the next several years up to present to highlight how "inclusive" they now are. I am not sure what they are "known" for now, but I would not send my child here knowing the great lengths they went through to change their image. They are over-shadowed by a MASSIVE Liberty University, which controls the city and area where University of Lynchburg is located."

"Lynchburg College, now known as University of Lynchburg, is a tremendous institution. The student and faculty body is and feels like a family. The campus feels like home. The professors are phenomenal individuals who truly cater to their students aspirations. The only downside to my experience at LC was the unnecessary general education requirements such as freshman and senior symposiums, physical/health education, etc. Those specific courses wasted my time and could have been used in taking courses for my majors."

"I completed my M.Ed at Lynchburg College in 2010 through a cohort model. I knew that in order to be my best I needed face to face education with an accountability group that would hold me to a high standard. Lynchburg College provided all of that, and more! I've created friendships with professors, colleagues, and the community through their program. I liked it so much that it's drawn me back in as I complete the Ed.D program. What a luxury to have in my community!"

"Lynchburg College has a welcoming environment for a wide variety of students. The professors are always willing to help you with the small class sizes and open office hours. The athletics are well regarded around the school with large student support at competitions. The campus is smaller and perfect for anybody with on campus housing who wants to be able to wake up and walk to class in 10 minutes."

"I am a graduate student at the school where I received my bachelors. I feel that I have been adequately prepared for the rigorous work in graduate school. The ability to participate in undergraduate research gave me a greater appreciation for my graduate studies. All of my professors have been excellent and I am so pleased with the experience I have had."

"There are not enough great things that I can say about Lynchburg College. The quality of instruction was phenomenal. Very few schools inspire thinking outside of the box but LC is one. I was taught to not just regurgitate facts but how to work out problems and how to relate them. The Counseling Center is an extremely great resource for any student. Students and staff alike are very helpful and welcoming."

"Lynchburg College has a unique program that is targeted for existing educators. Teachers and guidance counselors are put into a cohort program together for a rigorous two years of non-stop classes, internships, practicum hours, and learning experience. By creating the cohort program for existing educators, LC has given each student a classroom of peers who understand the everyday challenge of already being a part of an educational system. This also allows the students to have peers to collaborate with and the students are reaching for the same goal."

"The program is not yet accredited, but hopefully will be in April 2013. I think Lynchburg is a perfect setting for such a difficult curriculum, it has just enough night life to keep a person busy but not too many distractions."
