"I am in the master's mental health counseling program and it is absolutely wonderful. Diversity, ethics, and social justice have become important elements in my practice. The city provides many practicum opportunities and the faculty are kind, fair, and knowledgeable. Plus, Miami is a fun and interesting place to live."

"School provides a lot, but is very expensive both for tuition and living."

"The University of Miami- School of Communications has great, top quality Faculty and amazing hands-on opportunities. On the other hand the MFA program is tough. In the long run it's great, because you get a lot of experience, but during the semester sometimes it seems like you will never finish every thing you have to do. Love the program though. GO CANES!"

"UM is not nationally recognized, but rather is respected regionally. It is very expensive, as is Miami to live in. The quality of the school is wonderful, though."

"Good school but inconsistent with some professors and classes. Some professors have the same finals so it is not beneficial if you don't fit into those classes because everyone else will have better grades than you creating a very uneven playing field. Extremely expensive, financial aid is difficult and they don't work with you. Parking is the worst I have ever seen and also very expensive. They do have some good visiting professors but again, if you take those classes to expand your knowledge, you may bring your GPA down because you don't know what to expect."

"The graduate program here is a bit intense. The faculty are always challenging us to learn and think about our courses in different ways rather than just be content with just a rehearsed straight answer from a book. Competition between students is lively but the students are friendly and great to be around. The city of Miami is fantastic, couldn't be happier being here as I'm originally from a rather small town in Texas. The Law School deans are always accessible and willing to help with whatever one could possibly need, they have done a wonderful job of making us feel welcome here at the school. The school is a bit smaller than I expected in terms of buildings for pretty good size class, but there is also construction ongoing so once that's done will have a bit less congestion and some beautiful new buildings nearby ."

"Faculty within the department collaborate, so there are many opportunities to work with faculty who are not your advisor."

"For anyone who wants to balance their social and academic life nicely, UM is the best. Only drawback is the location of medical campus in terms of safety."

"University of Miami provides a lot of financial and academic support for its graduate students in smaller programs. They are dedicated to improving the schools reputation, however at this time they still admit students who don't always live up to a high standard."

"Due to its location in an underserved neighborhood, the University of Miami and its neighboring and affiliated facilities provide an ideal learning environment. Its small size and easy access to both members of the faculty and visiting physicians allow one to learn on a more intimate level as well. Lastly, the ability to have access to its Undergraduate campus and all of its resources allow students to take advantage of all that Miami has to offer with respect to learning opportunities, and social and athletic endeavors."
