"I am currently attending and I love this school! There is Facebook group I joined prior to attending and asked a ton of questions to get feedback. Lisa G was enrollment advisor and she was amazing! She was so easy to talk with and I never felt pressured or bothered like I didn’t with other schools. So far I enjoy it, the discussion questions are hard but you get feedback from the professor. Lisa spent so much time with me and motivated me to get excited about going back to school. I am excited to continue my classes."

"Academics at Walden are good. Not great but I have learned a great deal. The resources are good however they charge a "technology" fee (currently $150 a term) on top of tuition and most courses required a book that you need to pay for additionally. While there is financial aid refunds and book advances....the most recent course required a book that was $100 and couldn't be purchased used because it was a brand new edition. We only used maybe 50 pages of reading material out of this book. The instructors, mentors, directors and advisor are all nice and try to help students out when issues arise. However, I would caution anyone who is thinking about attending Walden to prepare for the headache that is Financial Aid Services. I have had nothing but issues with them and the process since enrolling. When I say there is constantly an issue, I mean it never stops. There is always a paper missing, something not filled out right or another issue that requires much time and effort to get resolved. If you ask a question, you will get a response however when you reach back out to them you get a completely different answer from the first response. I had read negative reviews about the Financial Aid Dept before enrolling and I wished that I had listened. It is time consuming, stressful and never ending. I was planning on continuing my education at Walden for my Master's degree but this last issue with Financial Aid was the last straw. I can't wait for 3 more terms to be over and be done with me. Also to any potential students....just a helpful hint that I wished I knew before enrolling at Walden....a lot of organizations WILL NOT allow you to even apply for a grant or scholarship at a for-profit college. I learned that the hard way. It is an expensive college and there is not much help in getting help with the cost."

"Attending this school was the worst decision I could have made even though I only attended 2 weeks. The system is hard to follow and that makes submitting work complicated. Financial aid is a real joke you can call 3 times and you'll get 3 different answers. Discussion board assignments do not relate to the course and the 6 credit technology course is useless. I read these reviews on here and I still went against the grain and applied. DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL BY ANY MEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Ugh! Where do I begin? As they say, "Hindsight is 20/20." If asked, "Would I recommend Walden University", the answer would emphatically be, "NO!" Keep in mind, I had to wait SIX MONTHS prior to attending Walden because as a transfer student from University of Phoenix, student loans cannot "overlap." So, because I had attempted to transfer schools in the midst of a financial period in February, I couldn't enroll and/or attend Walden until August of this year. Over the phone and via discourse online, the staff and advisors at Walden University gave the illusion and false impression of "efficiency." Attending this school was DEFINITELY the biggest mistake of my academic career. After waiting 6 whole months to attend this fraudulent institution, being awarded financial aid, going through entrance loan counseling, signing my Master Promissory Note, etc; I was entirely ready and prepared to complete my Bachelor's degree at Walden. However, they enforce this fickle policy called an "Adequate Academic Progress Hold." According to their own policy, students loans are not disbursed until after the SECOND week of the FIRST class and a passing grade has been posted. Their words, "This saves YOU money." Aside from the fact that after the second day of my first course, I was no longer able to access the online classroom via Student Portal and had to complete/download assignments via my Amazon tablet, it was well into my second course - the month of OCTOBER - that the hold was finally removed. Keep in mind, this is AFTER I had contacted the registrar's office and the financial aid office to find out why my financial aid had not yet been disbursed. In my opinion, a student should NEVER have to go behind an institution to "coax" and "babysit" them into upholding their own policy. A University has its job, a student has theirs. Nevertheless, after speaking to an "advisor" (term used loosely) I was ASSURED that the problem would be corrected within "2-3 business days" and was even issued a case number. Needless to say, "2-3 business days" came and went. Almost 2 1/2 weeks later, I was informed via e-mail by the financial aid office that the hold had FINALLY been removed and that student loans were scheduled to be disbursed. At this point, I had become so annoyed with the entire situation, I had ceased all attendance and participation in my second class - and rightfully so! After alleging that my student loans would disburse in "7-10 business days"; (they always gave some fictional amount of time) I was then told that my financial aid would NOT be disbursing, I would receive no refund check and loans were sent back to the lender. I had spent all this time "hoping, waiting and anticipating" that they would do the right thing and abide by their own policy only to be slapped with a big ole' bill for education I never received - a bill which I will NOT be paying. As I explained to them, "It isn't my responsibility to pay for YOUR slothfulness." They had "money on the books" to pay for an entire semester's worth of courses, they should've disbursed them in a timely manner. It's bad enough that I spent six months of my life waiting to attend this "POS" institution. Time that I don't get reimbursed for. Why should they be reimbursed one red cent when this whole situation was created due to their laziness and procrastination? Anyone who's considering attending Walden or ANY University for that matter: Do your homework. Do your research. Don't base your decision solely upon an online advertisement or television commercial. Your education is FAR too important and the decision FAR too critical to not know - fully - what you're walking into. A college degree is not only a great accomplishment, but it accompanies you through life. You owe it to yourself to do your due diligence. . . . Long story short: Do NOT attend Walden University."

"I attended the university for my undergrad in Psychology. I attended Walden as I live in a remote location and I was unable to travel to attend on-campus elsewhere. The class material was appropriate and the flow and ease of use of the platform was non-obstructive to learning. I was happy with the results and attended a very large convocation in Minneapolis (guest speaker Bill Clinton... how cool was that!). I have no regrets at all... my only complaints are: 1) not enough interaction with professors at the time (but that has changed as I am back in school again and they do video conferencing now). and 2) the cost was substantially higher than a Canadian University (but they didn't have enough online programs at the time). I would definitely recommend it to anyone capable of self directed study... if you need the professor to hold your hand, or have time management issues... than any online program at any university (including Walden) will be a struggle."

"I currently attend Walden because of my job I don't have the time to go to a classroom oriented school. I HAVE taken many online classes at the University of Minnesota and University of North Dakota and had to have proctored in person exams which were impossible to schedule or tests that are completely open book. Online classes at the big traditional universities are easy, you have 16 weeks to read, do some homework, worthless discussions(meaning you receive credit as long as you post something) and tests. Walden is another story, I went into it thinking it would be easy and I was wrong. Classes are 6 weeks, two APA formatted discussion posts/week that actually have to answer a question meaningfully, a 2-5 page APA formatted paper and a test. I have never worked this hard on non-hard science or math classes in my life. The feedback from professors have always been good, some are really picky about stupid stuff but you get that at any school. When I have looked up my professors the majority are or were professors at other respected universities as well. As far as cost goes... I pay $320/credit hour and the University of Minnesota is $325/credit hour so it is on par with the state schools."

"Walden University is a great choice for online learning. The professors and university staff care about their students. If I needed extra help,someone was there for whatever the issue was. When I was hospitalized at the start of my first term, they made it easy to just take a term off. Professors helped me learn to write in scholarly manner. The courses helped me understand Psychology and prepared me for the next level. I would recommend Walden to everyone."

"These people are a JOKE. I spent my hard earned money ATTEMPTING to apply to this place. But this was a joke from the get go. NO ONE tried to help me with the application process. EVERYTIME I called my "so-called" adviser wasn't available. Then I switched advisors. She was even more of a joke. Names are A.M and A.B. Run away from these people. Don't even waste your time requesting information. Trust me. They're a big joke."

"I just graduated with my BS in Psychology. I went to community college for three years then transferred to Walden for the last two. The curriculum is challenging, but well worth it. The professors are professional and are highly educated in their field. I did have one major problem with grading with one professor, but the issue went to the dean and was resolved. I really feel like I earned my degree, and I am now pursuing my MS in Psychology through Walden. One downside-this school is expensive, but I still felt it was worth the money. Overall a very good University."

"I just graduated from Walden University. I would have to say it was a good experience and the degree met all the requironments to be accepted into graduate school. I had no issuses with advisors or the financial aid dept. Some professors were engaging while others felt none exsitant. Online format is definately for those who are self motivated. I was pleased with the overall pyschology program. Did consider to continue at Walden to pursue my masters but missed the classroom interaction so it is back to a brick and mortar campus. If you do not mind writing lots of papers ,participating in discussions and independant study than Walden may be a good choice."

"My teachers were wonderful very supportive and helpful. The feedback is excellent, my enrollment adviser was excellent, but my academic adviser was awful. I called to get feedback on what classes should I take for the next course and was told " just pick any". I never heard from my academic adviser until my 3rd term. IT is awful as well, financial aid was unhelpful and uncaring. I got my refunds on time which is hard to do with most schools. But now that I read all the negative reviews I will be getting out of this school as soon as possible. Nervous!"
