"The degree has not helped me at all in gaining employment. It took 6 months to get a job and it was not even in Healthcare Management, it was a receptionist. I've applied at hospitals, Dr's offices and anything health care related and only a few interviews in 3 years. I stand a better chance in getting a job not listing my degree at Walden. So disappointed with them and the fact they don't help students gain employment."

"At first it was a really good and I enjoyed my classes. Once I got into my core courses it became extremely frustrating. Most professors will do the bare minimum and expect you to provide work that wasn't requested. The new website has also caused me a lot of frustration. I am in my last course at Walden and I rarely hear from my professor. She provides feedback almost at the end of the week when it's not necessary anymore. Overall I just have a lot of frustration and wish they were more transparent with their expectations. It's basically a teach yourself school. I honestly can't remember a darn thing I learned because it's so fast paced and you are expected to do it all yourself."

"I'm a new student at Walden University and I did my research before I selected them. They transferred more than half of my credits from my AS Degree in Healthcare Administration from Keiser University with no problem. So far I am very happy with their curriculum, the professors, my classes, the funding (although I'll be in debt for the rest of life paying off subsidized and unsubsidized government loans) and I am looking forward to the day I graduate as a Walden graduate with a BS Degree in Healthcare Management. You have to be willing to give 100% or more to succeed, if not it's just a waste of your time and money. Personally, I think it's worth it because I know it will benefit me in the long run and I plan to follow up at Walden to obtain my Master's degree in Healthcare Management. The online courses are just as challenging (or more); and they are an accredited school. You can agree or disagree, but that's just my opinion and I feel blessed to be a student there."

"I have had a great experience at Walen University. I just graduated cum laude and had a great time at graduation. Online education is not for everyone. It takes hard work and dedication. Everyone I encountered was very helpful, from academic advising, financial aid and enrollment advisers. Im currently enrolled for my master program. I would recommend walden to anyone that is discipline enough to do the work and put in the time and effort. I love Walden!"

"I attended a reputable brick and mortar school for my Associate's Degree, Walden for my Bachelor's and am exploring which of the two I will choose to pursue my Master in Healthcare Administration as both universities offer the program totally online. The more I research this topic, the more disappointed I become with the impression most people have of Walden. I know for a fact that their curriculum is comparable to the online offerings of a major, local university. Furthermore, online work is about self-motivation and some people just cannot succeed in this way. I have found that professors do not simply let sub-par submissions slide; students are held accountable to the assignment requirements. I have a 4.0, spend probably 8 or more hours per week on each class's assignments and feel that I have learned valuable skills I will apply to my new field. I would definitely recommend Walden to self-motivated students who like to write. Research assignments are the crux of the work, both big and small, along with quizzes and tests. I love to work this way and feel that Walden's online environment has given me an opportunity to continue to work and take care of my children while earning my degree. In fact, I love that I don't need football Fridays or a campus crawling with alcoholics to get an education these days. Walden has been great for me."

"Walden sucks, they waited until I was 10 classes away from my degree to tell me my funds was low a week or two before class started. They never gave me options, it was like they never cared. Getting my degree was so important to me."

I am perplexed at the negative comments folks are making about the quality of Walden University academic programs. I am pursuing my DBA program and I find the courses not only challenging but intensive. I think some people just want to be spoon fed. If you think you can pay money and walk away with a degree from Walden without putting in your effort, then Walden is not the right place for you.
