"This program is an absolute disappointment. If I wasn't so far into I would quit Walden. There were issues right from the start but they were going through an ownership change so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited it out. There is minimal communication for the "instructors" who are supposed to facilitate the discussions. Feedback is minimal so you don't know if you are on the right track or not and it sometimes takes 2 weeks to get feedback on assignments which is not helpful progressing through the material. This is a lot of money to spend to watch pre-recorded lectures which are o.k. but often repeat material. I feel like I am learning nothing, I don't have a good grasp on learning something new for a career change, and will definitely not be ready to enter the field---even to do the field hours before certification based on what I have and have not learned thus far. To boot, you can no longer communicate with many departments via email anymore. The financial aid department is rude, slow, and often have no clue what is going on. Good luck getting things resolved if you have an issue. I attended Walden for my Bachelor degree and had some issues with it but overlooked it because at least the instructors "acted" like they care and I felt like I learned something every term but not the Master degree. It is not because I am not a motivated self-learner--I most definitely am but there is no "instructing" that occurs. At the end of this journey, I will have a piece of paper--nothing more."

"This university is a fraud. I haven't been able to complete my MA in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in counseling because I couldn't find a field placement. When I contacted the school for assistance, I was provided with an excel sheet with site locations previous students have used. The locations (I checked within the state of NJ since that's where I'm from) were 2-4 hours away from my location. I was also told to google locations. When I did, I contacted the possible site locations & learned that universities within NJ like Rutgers, Montclair, and/or WPU student's get priority over a student from Walden who doesn't have a relationship with these possible site location. My time at Walden was a complete and utter waste. I spent over $40,000 on this fraudulent school. I don't understand how they continue to exist! I regret the moment I contacted them. Until this day, I'm unable to obtain my degree."

"Walden reinforces the negative stereotypes of for-profit diploma mills. Every student receives an A which fosters doubt about academic quality. I found Walden administrators to be dishonest, unresponsive, and unethical. The workload was embarrassingly easy and the caliber of students poor. With a 4.0 GPA, employers continually question the quality of my education and label Walden as a "business" rather than an academic institution. Walden is a subpar school that preys on vulnerable students. I won't even hang my degree because of the terrible reputation of the school."

"Please read the headlines about the dangers and scams with non-profit schools. Walden can be the poster child for a predatory for-profit school. In the words of Walden's financial management team, "These are very expensive courses". The cost I paid did not come close to matching the quality of the education. Please attend a school that you can feel good about hanging your degree. Clients and other professionals role their eyes at Walden. I have to work harder to prove that I am more credible than the Walden name. Make your own decision but take all the negative about Walden seriously. I am living the Walden graduate nightmare."

"Walden University is a dangerous institution that preys on vulnerable students and leaves them without support or assistance. My enrollment advisor was less than honest and the financial management department lacks integrity and honor. The education is subpar and basically students who show up in the classroom get an A. Video quality of much of the material is dated and the material includes quizzes with incorrect answers and typos. Professors do not teach. Class professors simply grade the work and provide minimal feedback. The financial aid and billing office cannot provide consistent answers to basic questions. Despite the CACREP accreditation, field placement sites laugh when they hear Walden. The name Walden lacks respect in the professional world. Stay away."

"Attending class online is not for everyone. It takes an enormous amount of time and dedication. It is hard work but with determination you will meet your goal. I have not had any problems with Walden; faculty, advisors all have been great. I have never written so many papers in my life, but I am learning a great deal about the field of psychology. It is what you make it. I have heard people complain about brick and mortar school also, the truth is everyone will not have the same experiences; one must do what is in their best interest. I have referred friends to online programs and the reason for them not succeeding had nothing to do with the school but everything to do with their work ethic. If you really want it - go for it. Some may have had some bad experiences but it doesn't mean everyone will. I thoroughly enjoy attending Walden. I'm growing, learning and enjoying every moment."
