Baker University was exactly what I needed in an undergraduate university. While it was more expensive than the public state schools in the same state, they do offer a number of scholarships to students who are willing to work to earn them. They helped me through some really tough semesters - spending extra time with me the semester my mom died my junior year, to make sure I could still succeed. Due to small class sizes, we as students were able to have more impact on our own learning. We had time to ask questions, to discuss subject matter more thoroughly and take class discussions in different directions to expand our understanding of the material. The campus is beautiful, and feels like home. Everyone knows everyone, and cares about each and every student. Some of the general education classes were pretty boring - but that's just college. Overall I think I received a wonderful education from Baker University. I've been able to find work in a field that I love, and use what I learned about psychology every day. I spent a whole lot of money (and am still spending a whole lot of money paying off loans) for that piece of paper on my wall, and honestly I don't make enough money even 7 years later to whole-heartedly declare it "worth it" - but I think that's an issue with the overall higher education system. Baker is a wonderful place for learning, growing, and feeling at home. And the tiny campus makes for a really short and easy walk to class!
