Read More program, my class size is about 10-15 students, each professor takes a special interest in the needs of each student to ensure they have all the tools and resources needed to excel. With firsthand experience, coming from a larger school from my undergraduate degree, class sizes were over 100 students, the professors didn't know the students' names and did not seem to take interest in the success of students. I am thankful I picked such a close knit atmosphere to study and learn my future career choice. The small school feel doesn't stop in the classroom either, all the services offered at the school are extremely efficient in catering to student needs. I could not see myself at another school and would highly recommend D'Youville College to anyone looking to further their academic studies!

Embarking on a journey towards a Doctorate program, or any graduate program for that matter, can be both exciting and daunting. The pressure to survive a competitive environment all while aiming to positively shape my character as a future professional seemed so overwhelming for a 20 something year old who was struggling to transition from a sheltered life into the real world. D'Youvilles academic counselors, financial aid representatives, and program directors and professors have cultivated a positive and welcoming environment, especially for this California girl who's never lived with snow! DYC really knows how to take care of their students. There are always campus events and days dedicated to celebrating their students such as Student Appreciation Day. What better way to honor your students than with free food? The campus itself is intimate, and all the main student classroom buildings are literally connected so that you dont have to trek in the snow! The program is rigorous...to be expected, but my professors have gone above and beyond to extend their knowledge to us students, so that we may be equipped for practical application of our skills and critical thinking beyond the walls of the classroom. Their passion for the field has inspired and humbled me, and in times of self-doubt and bouts of panic from long study nights, I can still rest assured that it will all be worth it in the end. Time is always of the essence, and while I do think some time management could be approved in some departments (such as financial aid disbursement), I am overall happy to know that my time at DYC is priceless.
