"The pros of my graduate program is the opportunity to gain experience working with cutting edge technology in studio classes before testing it out as future art teachers. A con of the program is the workload for full time students."

"TC is an excellent program with a tremendous amount of resources. The price tag may scare off some, but seeking out faculty in the department where you wish to study is a great way to gain access to the robust financial aid offerings they have. If you make it clear you will go and they want you, they will put a lot of money toward you. Also, like any graduate program it is pay-per-credit, so you can plan according to your aid award. The programs are mostly all designed for students who work full time jobs, meaning many classes are offered in the evenings. Make sure this is the case for all of your required classes, though. They also offer robust Summer programs for those already working as educators full time to take advantage of when schools are closed. This is an excellent school and excellent program, I would highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about the education field."

"My program is most known for its multicultural and multilingual emphasis on Speech-Language Pathology. Every course has a multicultural aspect built-in, which aids in our Bilingual Extension Certification. There are a variety of international program trips available for the students, in which they travel to third world countries to proved speech therapy. TC offers great faculty and a unique program, however the cost is astronomical. You definitely get what you pay for, though."

"My graduate program attracts students who are serious about learning and achieving goals. The high-quality education provides both practical and theoretical pedagogic knowledge to those who are willing to work diligently and maintain a positive attitude. An Ivy League school in NYC is quite expensive, but competitive funds are allocated to deserving candidates. However, the supplemental scholarships provided by Columbia are extremely specific, and if a student does not fall into these categories that are out of a person's control, he or she cannot apply for the additional funding."

"I was looking at a lot of different arts management schools and what drew me to the Teachers College Arts Administration program was the NYC location and the way the program is designed. When I saw the ArAd program’s classes, it was exactly what I needed. In this program I am receiving law, accounting, marketing, development, and management classes, and in addition to the core curriculum you’re allowed to pick electives that suit your needs. Furthermore, while some schools just focus on one discipline, this program integrates all arts fields. I really like the fact that our cohort is a combination of visual arts, cultural policy, and performance arts backgrounds. Finally, being a student at Columbia gives me amazing access to other Columbia schools and departments, and it is a wonderful opportunity. On a personal note, I ended up officially accepting my offer from TC after visiting on Admitted Students Day 2014 and meeting my future professors and cohort. Being able to speak with everyone and see how smart, funny, and welcoming they were made my decision very easy. I could picture myself here and saw the program as a great fit. My studies are helping me in two key areas that I need experience in: Development and Marketing. Not only are there core classes in these fields, but I can pick electives that go further into these topics. I plan on taking as many business classes as I can. I was a business manager for a performing arts school for two years before coming to this program and I have already learned so much that I could have used in my previous role. I know that after TC, I will have the experience, knowledge, and confidence that are crucial for this field. I also love that our professors are not only teaching us these skills, but challenge us to innovate and change the industry. They want us to become arts leaders and solve the big problems. Challenge accepted."

"As a current graduate student there are aspects of my experience that are great, and others that have take away from the experience as a whole. For instance, the college has an incredible student body which is extremely talented and diverse. The resources are incredible and group work that is expected mimics real-world experiences. On the other hand, it is very expensive and there are not many chances for financial assistance."

"The atmosphere at Teachers College is very inclusive and warm. The professors and teachers are some of the best in their respective fields. Technology is not TC's forte and the campus do not have the best study facilities. But then you can always head over to Columbia."

"Pros: Rigorous program. School is well known and respected. Great career services support! Great little food places. Cons: Wish it was more integrated into Columbia as a whole. Expensive but that's the price you pay for a school that is well-respected."

"As a leading institution of education, the decision to apply to Teachers College was a no-brainer. I am surrounded by some of the brightest students and faculty from across the world in the best city in the world. This scholarship opportunity will allow me to defray a portion of the cost of attendance and give me more flexibility to explore other educational opportunities offered by TC which is all about enhancing the educational system both here and abroad."

"Teachers College has so much to offer. The courses are current and challenging, but the best part the is the peer-affect. It is an extremely diverse student body who challenges one another in ways that make you want to be at your best. Students represents all parts of the globe and bring new perspectives and ideas about all the issues which are trying to be resolved here in the states. Being in New York and at Columbia University, the cost is high which is an ongoing theme in higher education. Having New York City as your home, playground, and laboratory sometimes makes it feel the benefits outweighs the costs. Working with and learning from great faculty and other students making the educational experience worthwhile."

"This is a great program with a practical overview of the field. A student needs to take advantage of the opportunities outside of class, and pursue the specific perpectives further. Faculty are wonderful and always eager to help you outside and during class. Classes are hands on and practical to the field, small and the coursework is reasonable. Located right by the subway and easy to get to, with a slew of opportunites available from being located in NYC. Absolutely wonderful program aside from living and tuition being pricy. The money is well worth the networking and opportunites available to you."

"I love the program at Columbia's Teachers College. It is valuable and necessary for teachers that have the interest in becoming school leaders. The classes are applicable and hands on to meet the diverse needs of the students represented. The group collaboration was powerful and led to a plethora of conversations that maximized the class period to implement changes in our U.S schools."

"Overall speaking, I really like my program: Adult Learning and Leadership. Study here looks like study in a harmonious learning community. All the students voice can be heard and opinions will be respected. Professors built up a safe learning environment and respect individual's difference. They won't judge you based on their own knowledge, as they believe people are unique based on their own grow-up background and believed life values."

"Teachers College at Columbia has the benefit of being in New York City. Everything that New York City has to offer, is available to Columbia students. The resources are numerous. And if you're studying Arts Administration like I am, this is extremely valuable. Access to all of the arts organizations in NYC is a huge pro for this program."
