"The program was very industry oriented. It helped me to better understand the nature of healthcare, the challenges it would face and gave me skills to better deal with those challenges once employed. I did feel that there was an under emphasis on data and the importance it has played in healthcare and my current role as a business analyst. I work with data and try to solve data issues every day and that was not taught in class."

"Great graduate program, especially considering the universities focus on physical fitness and wellness. Teachers in the program are very dedicated and seem very passionate about the field they are in. Surrounding areas are perfect for career related experience in recreation. Young field, may be lacking in dedicated funds for related programs but has lots of potential for growth. Loving every minute of it, and glad I can look forward to going to class."

"I am deeply in love with my Master's program here at Texas State University. However, we are still an emerging major regardless of being around longer than others, and with this has both the pros and cons. We have everything to prove and nothing to lose in order to show that we will benefit the lives of others, but we are not well known or understood to be given those opportunities. So Recreational Therapist do what we do best, we adapt and modify to current trends, facilities, and any outlet we see that can demonstrate our proficiency of skills earned through the program. Our grad program is fresh and learning, still working out some of the kinks, but we rarely get a call not displaying a facilities, organization's, etc... positive and impressive regards to our knowledgeable skills and field based research."
